John Quarisa, aka Johnny Q, is a terrific winemaker, creating wines that, like him, can be lively and highly charged. In his Caravan wine series, he likes to think of a grape that changes in style as it travels. So that here, Sauvignon Blanc grown in his Riverina vineyards produces a wine still with loads of grassy fresh zip, but along the way, has developed more tropical fruit flavours too. That is peach, pineapple and passionfruit! He insists on night harvested grapes to ensure lots of bright fresh flavours and cool ferments them for the same reason. This wine previously won a Gold medal and we think the 2021 vintage is tasting just as good – it's a fridge-door-must! Chill down and enjoy as a glass on its own or with spicy Thai dishes.

A ripe, fleshy quaffing Chardonnay. Bright straw colour with yellow green tinged edges and a watery hue. Ripe peach and crème brulee like aromas fill the nostrils with hints of toasty oak and butterscotch also present. Fleshy and ripe, the palate features peach and tropical fruit flavours over vanillin spice and traces of crème brulee. Balanced acidity with a nicely shaped finish. Drink over the next year. The blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes displays an elegant soft pink colour with an attractive marriage of lemon citrus flavours with fresh strawberry and red currant characters.

This Pinot Grigo has distinct varietal aromas of pear and passionfruit with delicate floral perfumes. McGuigan Black Label is refreshing on the palate is with delightful flavours of pear and green apple and a clean citrus finish.

This wine opens with aromas of honeysuckle and tropical fruits such as paw paw. There is a touch of complexity from the wild fermentation, just enough to let you know that under the pretty facade is a fun and adventurous wine. The palate is an alluring combination of fresh fruits, spices such as white pepper and just enough wildness to keep you coming back for another glass. It finishes with a fresh cleansing line of citrus zest.
