Fruit for this wine was selected from Windowries original planting of Chardonnay. The block was planted in 1988. Aromas of white peach, white flower and grilled almonds are complimented well with seasoned oak spice and minerality. The palate is textural and refreshing, with underlying white peach flavours find their way to prominence in between oak and yeast complexities. This wine is exemplary of Cowra Chardonnay’s white peach intensity; to be enjoyed at any time.

‘Amarysso - to sparkle’ is made from Chardonnay grapes off ourestate grown vineyards. This Blanc de Blanc displays lifted aromas of citrus and white peach with crunchy nectarine filling the palate. This easy drinking style has a lively effervescence meant to be enjoyed whilst young, crisp and vibrant.

Brilliant very pale straw colour with a watery hue. Aromas of green apple, red apple skin and orange zest have a subtle waxy overlay with hints of pear also evident. Nicely textured the palate opens with pear and red apple skin flavours which overlay a delicate citrusy honeysuckle like back drop. Finishes dry with lively acidity and a tangy aftertaste. The Swift family have lived on the Printhie property since 1978 and first planted vines in 1996 in the cool climate region of Orange. The fruit for Topography Chardonnay comes off a single vineyard (Bantry Grove) that sits at an altitude of almost 1000 metres. Modern Australian Chardonnay with the dark citrus fruit to the fore, complex but integrated French oak lurking in the background with hints of matchstick flint as well. Fresh acidity. Gentle tannins carry the flavour further along the palate with great persistence. Chardonnay is the standout white wine variety in the Orange Region with a distinctive regional style. High elevation vineyards accentuate this style. A gentle hand with high quality French oak adds depth and complexity. Finely structure with fresh acidity and precise dark citrus flavours rather than the big tropical, buttery style.

Born-and-bred Hunter Valley specialist, Aaron Mercer spent years at Tamburlaine, and had stints at Tyrrell’s and Brokenwood, before setting up on his own. He’s also worked in California, France and Germany so brings a great deal of experience to his winemaking, with a a great small-batch range from premium Hunter Valley sites, Tumbarumba and Orange (as here), This Pinot Grigio is pure, yet textured. A little added weight through lees ageing and a little time in oak.A fine and focussed drop showcasing white flowers, creamy almond nougat and acid crunch. A welcome addition to Summer barbecues with friends.
