This is a very fine Gris. Its elegant nose shows hints of citrus, grapefruit, musk and apricot while on the palate the wine is structured and remarkably tight with mineral characteristics supporting rich, tropical fruit. The acid is very fresh and the length impeccable.

The Heggies vineyard situated in the hills above the Barossa Valley produces tightly structured classic Rieslings which can be appreciated young or cellared to achieve richer, complex flavours.

The very first Gruner Veltliner from the Eden Valley, growing blissfully alongside their natural soulmate, Riesling (and showing some similar characters). Pale straw colour, the aroma is floral notes of ripe, delicious apples, pears, and spice. A rich medium-bodied fruit driven style with citrus blossom and musk characters palate. The Pinot Grigio fruit was sourced from cool climate Victoria, a perfect part of Australia for growing this variety. The wine, being an aromatic varietal, was released as one of the first whites to be seen from the vintage.

"Spicy ripe pear lychee and spice characters sit within a frame of creamy yoghurt-like complexity. A fine dry, restrained palate with subtle hints of stone fruit, ripe red apples and figs. Showing the influence of limestone, it is a wine of complexity, of palatal weight yet delicacy, handling the higher alchol without it dominating in any way; a fine balance of acid with minimal residual sugar.
