The irrepressible Ben Glaetzer is the driving force behind Glaetzer Wines. Ben graduated in winemaking from Adelaide University in South Australia after working at Barossa Valley Estate during school and university holidays. Amon-Ra Shiraz is an iconic wine that epitomises Ben Glaetzer’s passion to create wines that are full flavoured, multi layered and intense but still elegant, stylish and finely balanced. In Egyptian mythology, Amon-Ra is considered to be the king of all gods. The temple of Amon-Ra was believed to be the first temple to ever plant a monoculture vineyard to produce wine for the citizens of the temple.

The Christopher This wine is a selection of the two finest barrels of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon in the winery for each vintage. It is dedicated to a young aspiring winemaker who had the potential to become one of the Barossas best. A blend of the two varieties that the region is most famous for and the two that Chris enjoyed working with the most. The wine is full bodied with a long seamless structure and balanced tannins. The rich dark fruit flavours of ripe Plum and Blackcurrants coat the palate. UTOPOS Cabernet Sauvignon, Barossa Valley Utopos is a project by Kym Teusner (Teusner wines) and Neil Panuja, making distinctly Barossan wines out of their vineyard. It is named Utopos in reference to the root word of Utopia, indicating just how special this vineyard is. The Cabernet is a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Shiraz. Its made with fruit from vine planted in 2000, and aged in approximately 40% new French oak for 24 months.

John Duval, famously known as the craftsman of the mighty Penfolds Grange, continues to further forge his reputation as a maker of great Shiraz. 'Eligo' from the latin: 'To pick out, select or choose or choose the best' is the flagship wine of the John Duval stable with its main aim to produce a Shiraz with structure and an elegant expression of its terrior. Multi layered with lashes of dark berry fruit, the wine is intense yet still quite restrained. An excellent Barossan Shiraz!

This iconic red wine is a tribute to the Barossa region. Deep red in colour with ruby hues, this wine displays aromas of blackberries and plums supported by subtle hints of pepper and spice. The palate is rich, round and persistent with concentrated berry fruit and hints of aniseed. Twelve months barrel maturation in seasoned and new oak has enhanced the complexity, grainy tannins and length of flavour.

Pure cassis, freshly sawn cedar, green olive and violet aromas are well matched to spicy oak. It is then dry, juicy and sinewy on the palate – taut fruit matched by significant but fine tannins all in a medium-bodied style. It finishes with supreme length which with immaculate balance promises long aging potential.
