A high quality wine from the first whiff of the bouquet through to the long finish...has a tapestry of flavours from the base of Cabernet...all supported by persistent but ripe tannins, the oak absorbed by the fruit. The Malbec is barrel fermented in 500 litre puncheons.Ø AROMA Lifted red berry and cedarØ PALATE Elegant natural tannins, some floral qualities over plum and gravelly depth. A fine balanced wine, with a long palate that shows finesse.Ø WINEMAKING Each parcel of fruit is gently crushed and transferred into small open fermenters. Before fermentation starts the juice is concentrated by removing 15% of the volume. This facilitates a greater intensity of flavour. Heading down boards keep the cap submerged for better skin contact. The fermenters are temperature controlled to provide optimum conditions. Gentle extraction is achieved by the draining of wine from the skins and returning back over. A cool moderate summer with consistent flavour development . The season produced rich flavours and ripe tannins. This outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon from Capel Vales Margaret River Scholar Vineyard demonstrates complexity and interest from maturation in French barriques and will go on to display subtle nuances and intrigue over time. Rich red meat dishes and casseroles.

Frankland Estate Olmo's Reward, named after Dr Harold Olmo who first identified viticultural potenital of the isolated Frankland River region, is an elegant blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot and small components of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. The concentrated palate has fine grained tannins, dark chocolates and savoury earthy notes leading to a generous and long finish.

The current release of the Fire Gully Sauvignon Blanc Semillon is a superb exampe of the blend. Complex and interesting with fascinating oyster shell aromatics, intense pure white tropical flavours with schisty minerally notes: powerful, vibrand and tangy, finishing fresh and zesty. Irresistible summer drinking.

Devil’s Lair Cabernet Sauvignon is complex and layered, characteristic Margaret River lively aromas, fine tannins and subtle oak characteristics. The Devil’s Lair Cabernet shows primary blackberry fruit aromas with a deep core of dark cassis, ironstone minerality and abundant yet supple tannins. The fruit is the work of Viticulturist Simon Robertson who has guided growing at Devil’s Lair vineyards for more than 20 years. The wine spends more than a year on 100% French oak both old and new.

Medium crimson red with a slight purple edge. A generous combination of lifted forest berry fruits, cassis, and dark cherry fragrances upfront with underlying black olive and blackcurrant nuances. Subtle sweet cinnamon oak spice, violets and savoury dried herbs adds a further depth of complexity. Medium to full bodied wine with elegant, well integrated red berry fruit flavours fill the palate followed by a succulent, fleshy but firm tannin structure. Juicy red berry fruit flavours persist endlessly with a hint of dark chocolate mocha on the finish.
