Scarborough Green Label Semillon

This is a superb example of the famous Hunter Semillon. Alternate in style and fuller in flavour, with tropical, grassy, lifted characters and a zesty palate. 'Today's selections are all comparatively low in alcohol - light bodied but tasty wines delivering great drinking pleasure. Semillon seems a natural starting point as, along with prosecco and riesling, the variety develops ripe flavours before grape sugar levels (and hence alcohol levels) climb too high. The warm Hunter region excels at the style but sometimes requires cellaring to soften the austere acids. James Busby planted hundreds of varieties at Kirkton Estate - the first vineyard in the Hunter Valley. He is recognised as the "father of the Australian wine industry". William Busby is James Busby son who inherited Kirkton Estate in 1857. This Semillon is dedicated to William. A fresh and crisp Semillon, with undertones of lemon sherbet and citrus fruit. The palate is clean and complex with a stunning lime finish.

Margan Ceres Hill Hunter Valley Albarino

Andrew Margan planted the first Albariño in the Hunter in 2014 and such has been its success, he’s planting more. The Spanish varietal’s ability to retain high levels of natural acid while ripening shines through. Peach, grapefruit and white flowers on the nose; clean minerally palate. Will age for 10 years. Freshly caught snapper, lime and salty chips come to mind.
