Back in 1998 Chief Winemaker, Chris Hatcher, decided it was time to take Wolf Blass into the modern world and the result was a single varietal Shiraz that was 100% aged in French Oak, unlike their famous flagship the Black Label which is a blend and aged in American Oak. A wonderful contemporary version of Wolf Blass that is a cavalcade of rich blueberry, blackberry and complex elements of dark chocolate and warm spice. Superbly long on the palate with an obvious hint to a long future in the cellar.

146 years after the first No.1 was made comes a Barossa red steeped in history. Its packed with powerful flavours of blood plum and cherries, and even some chocolate and liquorice.

First released in 1964 as the Great Western Hermitage, this descendant of the legendary wine shows dark berry fruit, spice and oak on the nose, while there's spice, chocolate, dark berry fruit and a touch of oak on the medium-bodied palate, finishing with fine, long tannins. The extra bottle age is evident but there's still plenty of life left. Deep crimson-purple; aromatic red and black fruit nuances on the bouquet lead into a gently spicy medium-bodied palate, which has true elegance and harmony. The Col Cross Story Somewhere in McLaren Vale youll find a very special block of old vine Shiraz. If you search for it, an olive grove to the west and an ancient chapel will be your guide. The shallow soils overlying a bedrock of limestone and the gentle sea breezes consistently provide us with fruit of exception quality. Dense, classic Shiraz characters of blackberry and dark cherry mesh seamlessly with spicy anise and cedary French oak. A concentrated palate of generous dark fruits and black cherry, the old vines contribute complex spices, cinnamon and nutmeg. A full bodied mouth filling wine that is perfectly balanced by a lingering structural finish.

Colour is dark kirsch. Lifted dark cherry aromas with notes of liquorice and dark chocolate. Flavour packed with kirsch, prunes, dark chocolate and liquorice. Rich and muscular, like Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Coonawarra blockbuster, the Katnook Prodigy Shiraz is a wonderful example of supreme Coonawarra Shiraz. Savoury spice and dark berry fruits with a hint of white pepper. An elegant wine with medium intensity and great length.

The fruit for the 2016 Vat 9 Shiraz was sourced from Tyrrells super premium vineyards on the Ashmans property with an average vine age of 50 years. Predominately from the Weinkeller and Short Flat vineyards. Winemaking The blocks were all hand picked and sorted in the vineyard before arriving at the winery. All the fruit was then destemmed but not crushed, followed by fermentation in traditional open top concrete vats. After fermentation the wiens were matured in newer 2700L French oak casks for ten months.

This multiple award-winning full-bodied Shiraz expresses aromas of rich plum and black currant with notes of black pepper and vanilla spice enhancing further as the wine is allowed to breathe. Displaying excellent depth and complexity; the finely integrated tannins round the palate with concentrated flavours of black cherry and rich dark fruits that compliment a luscious lingering finish. This reserve wine is ready to be enjoyed now or can be cellared further.
