Young Henrys wouldnt be what it is without Newtown. Its their home, community and inspiration. So when the suburb celebrated its sesquicentenary they were invited to brew a unique beer to celebrate, they jumped at the chance. The resulting beer was an Aussie Pale Ale called Newtowner. In a bit of a nod to the suburbs past and present influences, we used a blend of English and Australian malts. Wilde Gluten Free presents as a golden Pale Ale. Careful selection of hop variety gives the beer a citrus and pine character in the aroma with floral hints which rounds out the beer, with a bitter but clean, flavoursome finish. A slight tartness from the malt balances nicely with the bitterness, giving a lift that leaves you wanting more. The beer has been crafted with no added sugar, colour, nor preservatives. The story goes that twin 'beerded' brothers, Thomas and Charles, set out to find the great inland sea of Australia, Lake Eyre. Ensuring they stowed plenty of Pale Ale for their journey into the scorching centre, they soon had no choice but to stay put and let the water find them. This Pale Ale is the lead beer of the Steamrail range, picking up a Bronze medal at the 2016 Royal Adelaide Beer Awards & Silver Medal at Australian International Beers Awards 2018. A Pale Ale brewed with wheat and crystal malt. It has two additions of the citrus and floral cascade hop in the brewhouse.
