Poderi Aldo Conterno Langhe Rosso Quartetto

Cinnamon, vanilla and a hint of coconut aromas and flavors lead off, offering black cherry, blackberry and violet notes buried within. This is supple and vibrant, with excellent balance. Just give it six months to a year to absorb the oak. Nebbiolo, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Syrah.

Sottimano Fausoni Barbaresco

Bright floral and citrus tones. Sweet red purplish berry fruit, blood orange, spice, menthol rose petal and lavender are some of the many notes that flesh out in this super-expressive Barbaresco. Aromatically lifted, dense on the palate and also very structured.

Orlando Abrigo CN 111

Gianfranco Alessandria Barolo DOCG

The Barolo embarks on a rather straightforward performance initially, and the wine gains in complexity as it opens in the glass. The bouquet is elegant and tapered with wild berry, spice and licorice. It is ample in terms of mouthfeel, delivering medium texture and depth. Classic and elegant are two appropriate descriptors. ‘Alessandria's Barolo is gorgeous. Sweet dark cherry, kirsch, cinnamon, rose petal, mint and orange peel lead into a core of soft, open-knit fruit. Silky tannins and soft contours add to its overall appeal. The aromatics alone are beguiling, but it is the wine's overall balance that is most impressive of all.’ - Antonio Galloni.

Planted by Silvano Reverdito in 1967, the year of his marriage, the Bricco Cogni vineyard is located in the comune of La Morra. It produces extremely fine and elegant Barolo Docg wines. From Michele Reverdito’s favourite Cru comes Barolo Bricco Cogni DOCG. Garnet red with orange highlights, complex bouquet with spicy notes including liquorice. On the palate rich, full and complex with harmonious tannins, fine and elegant.

Sorelle De Nicola Feyles Barbaresco Riserva DOCG

Ruby red, bright but not deep, with orange tints. Intense, ample and persistent, with notes of faded violet and tobacco. Full-bodied and harmonious, with hints of plum, walnut husk and wild berries.

Reverdito Michele Barolo Ascheri DOCG

This Cru in the commune of La Morra is located on a gently sloping hillside. The section owned by the Reverdito family produces wines which Alessandro Masnaghetti, in his guide to Barolo MGAs, defines as “warm-hearted”. These grapes produce Barolo Docg Ascheri. Garnet red with orange highlights, spicy bouquet with a hint of forest floor. Full-bodied and harmonious in the mouth, with fine tannins.

Boroli del Comune di Castiglione Falletto

Boroli Barolo del Comune di Castiglione Falletto is a village Barolo drawn entirely from the family’s own vineyards in the heart of the appellation, a commune long prized for its balance of structure and perfume. East-, west- and south-west-facing Nebbiolo on clay-limestone soils with touches of sand are harvested by hand around mid-October, then broken down into micro-parcels so that each plot and ripeness band is picked, fermented and aged separately before blending. Fermentation and submerged-cap maceration in stainless steel can run to 30 days, followed by at least 18 months in large oak and further bottle ageing, giving a Barolo that marries supple tannins with depth and freshness rather than sheer power. In the glass, recent vintages are noted for aromas of cherry and raspberry, dried rose, herbs and subtle spice, with medium-bodied, savoury palates and fine, chalk-edged tannins, making this a classic, village-marked Barolo that drinks well from release but is built to evolve over the next decade and beyond.
