Elderton Command Shiraz is a classic, old-vine Barossa Shiraz first made in 1984 from a single, low-yielding block planted in the 1890s on the banks of the North Para River at Nuriootpa. The vines are anchored in deep, alluvial silt over red-brown earths and limestone. Command Shiraz is typified by raspberry, blackberry, dark chocolate, meaty, aniseed aromas and flavours, pronounced chalky, firm tannin structures, plenty of mid-palate richness and underlying integrated oak. Command has won many international accolades, appearing twice in (U.S.) Wine Spectators annual Top 100 and winning the trophy for Best Shiraz in the World at the International Wine & Spirit Competition in London.

David and Jenny Jones are making wine with tremendous depth of fruit flavour, reflecting the relatively low-yielding but very well- maintained vineyards in The Pyrenees. Their flagship Dalwhinnie Eagle Shiraz is a perfect example of this. Pristine and fresh with more of everything providing plenty of stuffing, redcurrant, blackberry and sage characters.

Crafted from the estate’s Springflat vineyard with select bunch picks, this Shiraz is made with meticulous care—hard cane pruning, shoot thinning, and up to 50% whole bunches in the ferment to enhance texture. Matured for 23 months in 100% new French oak barriques, it boasts a deep, glass-staining red-purple hue. The bouquet is savoury and oaky, with coconut, toasty barrel, mocha, and espresso notes, layered over dense black fruit. The palate is massive yet balanced, with ripe, supple tannins, concentrated oak-infused flavors, and a brandied prune aftertaste, finishing with a powerful, long linger.
