Good winter rains set the vines up well for the ensuing dry, warm growing season. The ripening period was characterised again by warm, dry condition without excessive heat which gifted us rich, opulent reds with well-balanced structure. The moderate weather allowed us to harvest fruit at optimal ripeness. The Shiraz in particular demonstrates rafts of blackberry, fennel and earthy characters, typical hallmarks of a classic d’Arenberg red. Produced in close partnership with some of Australia's finest vineyards, Collaborations is our new capsule range of five wines. After over a year of tasting and scoring, we arrived at our core collection of wines: a Brown Brothers prosecco, a Mr Riggs shiraz, a Yering Station chardonnay, a Pizzini pinot grigio and a Xanadu cabernet sauvignon. Take It To The Grave Shiraz is vivid red and purple in colour with an expansive nose of blackberries, blood plums and chocolaty oak. The palate is opulent and inviting with dark plum and blackcurrant fruit flavours matched by dried herbs, cloves and subtle spicy oak.

Subtle hints of oak and soft tannins support the fruitiness of raspberries and red currents in this approachable and very smooth red. Pair with pork and beef sausages with lots of mustard and chutney.

A rich, full flavoured wine from the Langhorne Creek region considered one of Australia's premium wine producing areas. It packs a fruity punch with cherry, plum and dark forest fruit flavours. A rewarding wine.

A much-loved South Aussie red, this blended red is rich in black fruits that fill the mouth. Raspberry, red currant and plum fruits are balanced with fine sandy tannins and cedar oak. This medium to full bodied wine has a lovely balance and style in true Church Block character. Church Block was the first wine the late Greg Trott produced under the Wirra Wirra label back in 1972. He took the name from one of the original vineyards, which runs next to the small Bethany Church (Est 1854) across the road from Wirra Wirras century old ironstone cellars. Lots to like about this wine. It has plenty of generous ripe fruit with a hint of chocolate and sweet vanillin oak. Sure to steal the hearts of the many devoted fans of the famous region - fantastic value!
