Step Rd Black Wing Cabernet Sauvignon

McLaren Vale - A region renowned for generous full flavoured reds!Grapes are picked on both colour and flavour development. Picked at night to enable a cold onset to fermentation. Once crushed they are then fermented for 7-10 days at around 20 degrees, in small batches using neutral yeast, to allow regional fruit expression. The ferment is then pressed using an airbag press. A soft pressing is used, so we do not extract the bitter tannin, producing a fruit driven style of wine. After we have pressed the wine, it is allowed to go through natural malolactic fermentation. Following maturation the wine is blended and prepared for bottling.Dark brick red lifted aromas of dark plum, mocha and subtle oak characters.Dark berry and plum fruit flavours complimented by spicy overtones. A full, round, generous palate with good structure and length, finishing with firm, fine tannins. Aged in a combination of French and American oak for 12 months.

Mr Riggs Idle Lane Shiraz

Ben Riggs is McLaren Vale royalty. This is the wine of a maker in his prime. Known by all, and perhaps the envy of a few. This wine is superfine and mega satisfying. Made in small batches, this has the classic fruitcake richness you’d expect, with surprising elegance, tasteful French oak and a savoury spice finish. It’s long and supple, rich enough for some lip-smacking satisfaction, but not overweight or tiresome. A bright streak of acidity keeps things fresh and exciting. No wonder so many mofos come back for more (and more, and more).

Shingleback Red Knot Classified Shiraz

Shingleback Red Knot Shiraz has beautiful layers of dark fruits and soft earthy chocolate aromas on the nose. The Subtle savoury oak and chewy fruit tannins gives a nice structure to the wine. This will be a rewarding wine with careful cellaring, ensuring longevity.

Sisters Run Shiraz

Sisters Run is an independently owned and operated winery with a fierce commitment to make the best wines from family vineyards. The label pays reference to talented young winemaker Elena Brooks who wears steel cap boots in the day but carries a pair of high heels in the back of the ute, just in case of emergencies. Lovely aromas of red berries mingle delightfully with spice and black pepper notes. The palate is dry, medium-full bodied and amply rewards the promise of the nose. Suggestions of spice, plus red and black fruit, with a crisp acidity and appropriate tannins keeping everything balanced through the end of the long and tangy finish.

Train To Nowhere McLaren Vale Shiraz

Trains played a key role in early South Australian history. McLaren Vale was a central stop for passengers on their journey between Melbourne and Adelaide before highways rendered the railways unnecessary. Now, these 'ghost rail lines' are all that's left of the bustling intercity connection; a testament to times past when trains ruled. The rolling stock that sits idle are all that's left; a Train to Nowhere. This Shiraz is a tribute to those trains that carried passengers faithfully between cities. It displays sweet blackberry and Christmas cake aromas, with a full palate of dark fruit and dashes of cinnamon and spice.

The Good Grape McLaren Vale Shiraz

Collaborations Shiraz by d'Arenberg

Good winter rains set the vines up well for the ensuing dry, warm growing season. The ripening period was characterised again by warm, dry condition without excessive heat which gifted us rich, opulent reds with well-balanced structure. The moderate weather allowed us to harvest fruit at optimal ripeness. The Shiraz in particular demonstrates rafts of blackberry, fennel and earthy characters, typical hallmarks of a classic d’Arenberg red. Produced in close partnership with some of Australia's finest vineyards, Collaborations is our new capsule range of five wines. After over a year of tasting and scoring, we arrived at our core collection of wines: a Brown Brothers prosecco, a Mr Riggs shiraz, a Yering Station chardonnay, a Pizzini pinot grigio and a Xanadu cabernet sauvignon.
