Girolamo Russo Feudo di Mezzo is a concentrated and complex Etna Rosso with exciting intensity. It is a single vineyard Nerello made from vines over a century old in one of Etnas prime contrada. The fruit is dark and brooding, with velvety tannins and a voluptuous mouthfeel balanced with harmonious acidity. In 2005, Giuseppe Russo was drawn back to his childhood home on Sicilys Mount Etna to make wine. Named after his late father, he creates elegant and expressive wines that speak of the volcanos incredibly varied terroir. The crus (or contrade) in which Russo grows his grapes are among the finest on Etnas north side, and he conducts all of his production organically.

Penfolds RWT Shiraz is a big juicy Barossan Shiraz refined by the use of older French oak barrels. 1998 is considered to be one of the classic vintages of the modern age. Drinking wonderfully now but with many years still to come in its development, this is a great addition to any cellar.

Wynns Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon is the beacon of quality that all Australian Cabernet Sauvignon is compared to. Coming off the iconic red soils of Coonawarra, Wynns Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon is classic elegance. Chief winemaker, Sue Hodder, is able to craft a wine brimming with aromas of blackcurrant and plum that combine with spicy minty notes. The palate is well structured, long and fine. With the right cellaring condition, this could easily be a cellar gem.

The Glaetzer family have been part of the Barossa winemaking scene since 1888 and now Ben takes over the reigns and produces Shiraz of the utmost intensity and concentration. Named after the ancient Egyptian god Amon-Ra who was the champion of the poor and troubled and was central to personal piety, the temple of Amon-Ra is believed to be the first to plant a vineyard to produce wine for the citizens of the temple. This incarnation is rich, full-bodied and viscous to the palate, yet with sublime oak integration and a balance on the back palate that is quite lifted allowing it to be paired with many meals and a prime candidate for medium to long term cellaring.

Grown on volcanic soils, this wine has a deep and intense ruby red appearance. The nose has enticing aromas of ripe blackberries, cherries, plums and hints of violets. Full bodied on the palate with lively acidity and firm tannins. Expect flavours of dark fruits, pepper, licorice and vanilla unfolds as you discover the beauty of this wine. The wine has a savoury undertone which will make it a great pairing for slow roasted lamb cooked with rosemary and garlic.

One of the benchmarks of Barossa Shiraz, Peter Lehmann's Stonewell is a classic example of the rich concentrated old vine style. While bold on the palate, there is always an inherent complexity to the Stonewell that enables it to be compared with all of the great Australian wines produced today.

A wine that is testament to the winemaking expertise of the producer - encapsualting the essence of the appellation. With a deep garnet hue, it beckons with enticing aromas of ripe dark berries, including blackberry and plum, intertwined with hints of dried herbs, lavender, and spices. With sandy soils and a south-western exposure, the Mormoreto vineyard is located 300 metres above sea level. Mormoreto 2018 boasts a lovely, intense and radiant ruby-red colour. The bouquet is most intriguing, with fruity notes of cranberry, raspberry, fig jam and black cherry. The spiced notes, including tea and roasted coffee bean, are wonderfully balanced. It is fresh, complex, persistent balanced and well-rounded on the palate with silky smooth, well-integrated tannins.
