The Old Salem Church was built with humble claystone in 1856. The church was destroyed in the flood of 1946, Old Salem lives on in the memorial stone laid in our neighbouring vineyard and in the grapes harvested from it. These are blended with carefully selected premium grapes from other longstanding Barossa family growers to create this distinctive Barossa Shiraz. This rich Shiraz has an intense nose of satsuma plum, blackberry and hints of spice. The palate holds concentrated flavours of plum, dark berries, dark chocolate and aniseed, while new and seasoned French oak provides balance and support to the intensity of the fruit

This Shiraz is a brilliant ruby red colour with a nose of freshly picked blackberry and rich red fruit, mulberry, white pepper, and rainier cherry, Deep flavours of berries and cherry, along with a subtle hint of nutmeg to finish.

AROMAS Lifted dark fruit characters of plum and boysenberry, complimented by notes of red cherries with hints of black liquorice and cedar oak. TASTE A full bodied wine, with sweet fruit flavours of dark cherries and plums, and dense chewy tannins that finish chocolatey and smooth on the palate.
