On the nose, bursting with notes of the very first seasonal strawberries, limes, raspberries, and cherries, underpinned by a delicate floral aspect. A pretty, yet intense nose, combining red fruits and sweet notes of British candies. Then comes the aromas of crushed strawberries and bananas. The palate is lively, round, and harmonious. Good length on the finish.

TASTING NOTES Beautiful pale colour with lime-green highlights. The nose features broom flower and citrus (lemon) aromas, with pronounced minerality and notes of vanilla and brioche from barrel-ageing. The palate is incredibly well balanced, displaying good freshness, as well as lovely volume and body. The aromatic complexity is dominated by citrus notes (grapefruit zest) and oak. The aftertaste is wonderfully long. FOOD & WINE PAIRINGS Oysters, white asparagus from Blaye with herb mousseline, grilled salmon, poultry in sauce, scallops, sweetbreads, and veal chops.

Like a trio of Jazz musicians, Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre are brilliantly compatible as many people will have discovered in great examples from the Rhone Valley. The blend gives spicy blackberry flavours, dark plum, black cherry dark fruit and a hint of pepper. There is also a distinctive mineral, perfumed note that comes from the Mourvèdre. The different soils and altitudes contribute hugely too.

From the world-famous Chateau de Beaucastel, this medium-bodied, Southern Rhone red is packed with juicy red berry fruits and savoury complexity. Finishing dry, it's a winner with grilled meats.
