The McLaren Vale region in South Australia has a moderate coastal climate, perfectly suited to growing high quality Shiraz grapes. Since 1912 the Osborn family have tended vineyards in McLaren Vale, South Australia. Today, fourth generation family member Chester makes distinctive wines using traditional and sustainable methods in the vineyard and winery. Small batches of grapes undergo 10 days of carbonic maceration, then are gently crushed and immediately drained to finish fermentation in stainless steel. Stranded starfish have no place to hide. Traditional winemaking techniques and an eye to modern styles allow us to create wines that are synonymous with the regions they are from. Rich, honest wines that showcase the regions in their most natural light. The wine is dark red in colour with a medley of aromas od dark cherry, mulberry and ripe raspberries. The palate shows ripe raspberry and cranberry fruits with silky tannins which give length and finesse while finishing soft and full of flavour. This wine can be enjoyed now but will also improve with careful cellaring.
