The McLaren Vale region in South Australia has a moderate coastal climate, perfectly suited to growing high quality Shiraz grapes. Its unique soil produces concentrated fruit that impart pronounced berry and spice characteristics and soft palate. This wine is complex, fruit driven and smooth with hints of strawberries and raspberries with notes of spices. Crafted from two unique McLaren Vale vineyards as our celebration of Grenache - 1947 planted Grenache bush vines growing in deep sand and 1990 planted single-wire trellised vines.Medium deep, dark cherry in colour. Lifting fragrant aromas of strawberry/raspberry jujube, rose petal, lavender, cinnamon and star anise. Flavours of dark cherry, pomegranate and chocolate earth flow through the medium weight palate. Fine tannins and natural acidity focus the fruit into the moreish, savoury finish.

Steve Maglieri's Serafino Sorrento Shiraz, is one the most flavourful McLaren Shiraz's we've seen for quite some time. Spicy and rich on the front palate that then leads to a supreme density consisting of ripe plums and blackcurrants. If you're a McLaren Vale Shiraz lover, this Sorrento Shiraz has your name written all over it.

Shingleback Vineyard Selection wines capture the genuine and enduring character of the McLaren Vale region in South Australia .Situated between the hills and the sea and its unique terroir characterised by its warm Mediterranean climate. A softer style dominated by black fruits and spices, Grenache gives life and vitality to the palate combinating with savoury spicy tannin finish.

Chapel Hill's Michael Fragos loves using The Parson Shiraz to showcase McLarenVale's diversity and varietal character. The Shallow soils over livestone in maritime influenced vineyards between McLaren Vale and Masline Beach and also around Bowering Hill, provide explosive blueberries and liquorice with finesse and a wonderfully framing tannin structure. Up in the foothills of the Mount Lofty ranges, a Kangarilla vineyard offers Indian spice complexities that many higher priced wines would simply love to have. The added length and savoury tannins of this component and the use of some French oak result in a beguiling final release that is extraordinary.

Shingleback Red Knot Shiraz has beautiful layers of dark fruits and soft earthy chocolate aromas on the nose. The Subtle savoury oak and chewy fruit tannins gives a nice structure to the wine. This will be a rewarding wine with careful cellaring, ensuring longevity.
