DOMAINE LA BARROCHE Julien Barrot, Chateauneuf-du-Pape

A mouth filling, fruit driven blend that finishes juicy and fresh. Jean Pierre Perrin established La Vieille Ferme over 35 years ago, using the same grape varieties in similar proportions to those planted at the family’s Chateau de Beaucastel. This wine is a blend of Bourboulenc, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Ugni blanc and Vermentino. Brilliant water like colour with greenish tinged edges. Peach and apricot aromas mix with some honeysuckle and delicate ginger notes. Mouth filling peach and green to red apple fruits overlay an apricot, delicate honeysuckle and spicy ginger back drop. Nicely textured with fresh underlying acidity and a dry yet juicy fruit driven finish. Drink over the next 1-2 years. Alc. 13%

One of the Barossa Valley's finest wineries, Turkey Flat have been in recent great form even by their lofty standards. While Turkey Flat is renowned for their red wines, their Barossa Valley White is fast gaining a big following. A layered & thought-provoking blend inspired by the Rhône Valley. Rich and alive on the nose with precise stone fruit, fresh citrus and white florals all combining with deft traces of nougat, ginger spice, oatmeal and flint. The palate is full of tension with lemon curd, honeysuckle and vanilla pod flavours all encapsulated in a tight acid frame, and long textured finish.

d'Arenberg Hermit Crab Viognier Marsanne has medium golden colour leads to a sweetly ripe nose of apricots and honeysuckle. The palate is big textual and warmish with sweet apricot and stewed pear flavours. Perfect with red duck curry.

Powerful , densely structured and complex, M.Chapoutiers Barbe Rac Chateauneuf-du-Pape is a single vineyard wine produced entirely from Grenache. The fruit is sourced from vines averaging 90 years of age, located in the south of the appellation. The carefully selected grapes are hand harvested, entirely de-stemmed and vinified in concrete tanks. Maturation takes place for 12 months in oak, followed by a further 12 months in bottle prior to release.

Chateau de Beaucastel Hommage à Jacques Perrin is a monumental wine, made only in top vintages. The wine was first produced in 1989 as a tribute to Jacques Perrin, who died in 1978. Atypical for Chateauneuf-du Pape, the Hommage is a Mourvèdre dominant blend sourced from low-yielding old vines. Deeply concentrated and powerful, it possesses immense capacity to age.
