Forest floor aromas, fruit and minerality are a welcome sign we are in the south of Priorat. Sensations which make us re-live a springtime stroll through Mediterranean woodland. Intense and fresh, balanced with some silkiness which is characteristic of Mas d’en Gil wines.

Our “Love Over Gold Hommage” is a nod to the vision of the previous custodian of the estate, Bob McLean. Bob planted a small block of bush vine Mourvèdre near the winery and Grenache on the highest part of the vineyards. In 2022, for the first time, we kept a small portion of Mourvèdre and created “Hommage” in the tradition of great Chateauneuf du Pape. Made of 42% Mouvèdre, 42% Grenache and 16% Shiraz in 2022 all handpicked on April 8th. Each varietal was crushed separately with 10th whole bunch and fermented on skin for 20 days. After 12 months in barrel, the blend was finalised and a perfectly identical mount of Grenache and Mourvèdre came up as the best blend.

The Yalumba 175th Shiraz Grenache Magnum 1500ml 2022 is a truly exceptional wine that showcases the best of Barossa. This vintage, crafted by the renowned Yalumba winery in South Australia, boasts a deep ruby red colour that entices the eyes. Upon the first swirl, aromas of ripe blackberries, dark cherries, and a hint of oak greet the nose, followed by subtle notes of vanilla and spice. On the palate, this wine is rich and full-bodied, with juicy flavours of plums and blackcurrants, complemented by a touch of chocolate and a peppery finish. The tannins are well-integrated, adding a velvety texture to the wine.
