Biodynamic. Dry. In Alsace, the term Pinot Blanc is used to describe varietal wines or blends containing any percentage of Auxerrois. Weinbach’s Pinot Blanc is a blend of 70% Auxerrois and 30% Pinot Blanc. For fellow nerds, recent DNA studies indicate Auxerrois is a cross between Gouais Blanc and Pinot Noir. Weinbach’s blend comes from Clos des Capucins (with 45-year-old vines) and a plot from the limestone/clay soils at the foot of the Altenbourg vineyard. As with the dry Rieslings, the Pinot Blanc was pressed as whole bunches and raised over eight months in large-format wood (previous vintages were raised in tank). It's a far more layered and complex wine than you might expect from these varieties. It’s fleshy and mouth-filling with orchard fruits, white blossom and chamomile flavours and a textural core threaded through with punchy freshness. As with all these 2022s, it’s very hard to drink slowly!

The Chateau Suduiraut Vieilles Vignes 2023 is a stunning example of the prestigious Bordeaux region in France. This vintage is crafted with utmost care and expertise, resulting in a wine that is truly exceptional. On the nose, aromas of honeyed apricot, baked apple and notes of toasted almonds entice the senses. The wine's golden hue reflects its complexity and richness. On the palate, layers of ripe stone fruit, candied orange peel and a touch of oak create a luscious and well-balanced profile. The finish is long and satisfying, leaving hints of vanilla and spice. Aromatics: This Riesling is tinted of vibrant notes of lemon, with the fragrance of coins, orange and kumquat. Ripe nectarine, flowers, honey and minerals. Palate: Beautifully dense wine with lively flavours of lemon, apple, and ripe peach. Lovely tension and length with a seducing balance.

Aromatics: Notes of candied lemon, ginger, saline character and mineral notes. Palate: Rich and textural, with a juicy candied lemons flavour. Beautifully elegant and saline with a great finish making you salivate.

Aromatics: Flowers, fleshy ripe white fruits and sweet spices. A nuances and complex nose with plenty of warmth and generosity. Palate: Structured white with plenty of power and concentration. With this wine it’s like putting the volume up everything is deeper and more detailed. The balance and acidity in the wine is beautiful and the length stunning.

A lively wine with a raisin bread-like note mixed in with the ripe red fruits. Still fresh and vibrant with a clean floral finish. Drink now.

This new vintage is fresh and crisp, taut and racy. A fine youthful wine that promises to age gracefully for five to six years. 70% Pinot noir - 30% Chardonnay. One third of the wine is matured in oak casks prior to bottling, after four years on lees, it is disgorged, it sees dosage of 8-10 g/l before another 6 months in bottle prior to release.
