GRANT BURGE FILSELL
Orlando Centenary Hill Shiraz
A delightful wine that has just reached it's maturity, showing classic Barossa Shiraz power albeit in a more savoury limelight. Earthy and leathery undertones give this wine a point of interest that wasn't there when it was big, young and sweet. Enjoy only with great food and good company.
Teusner Riebke Shiraz
Another hearty expression of Barossa's generous fruit from the impressive Teusner stable. Black olives, black pepper and blackberries, there's a dark side to this feisty Shiraz. Concentrated and thick yet artfully constructed with balance and efficiency.
Head Wines The Blonde Shiraz
Pure joy in a bottle. The grey sands (blonde in colour) that run through this incredibly naturally low yielding vineyard contribute remarkable density and elegance. Highly perfumed, jube-like blue fruits leap from the glass and the super fine tannins and acidity will leave you craving another glass!
St Hugo Single Vineyard Koch Barossa Valley Shiraz
Sourced from a single vineyard planted in 1921 these vines are all you would expect of a vineyard approaching 100 years of age, gnarled, twisted and expressing their many years of hardship.
OR St Hugo Shiraz
A superb example of classic Barossa Shiraz - bold, complex and full-flavoured with silky tannins. Expertly cellared to show at its best, it’s drinking magnificently right now, delivering depth and richness with every sip.
St Hugo Single Vineyard Fabal Shiraz
Serious, dark and gestural, this shiraz sourced from a single vineyard in the northwest corner of the Barossa Valley is not for the timid. The Vantablack of the shiraz world. Dark and dense. Ink even, until the calligraphy begins gesturing across the canvas of the mouth. Fabal’s red soil aerates brushstrokes. Minerality gives structure. The paint dries slowly and lingers in the air.
Archery Road Barossa Shiraz
A top vintage (2021), elite, "exciting Barossa Shiraz…generous in every respect" (WinePilot) with two scores of 94pts. “Upfront and gorgeously perfumed, the bouquet is filled with dark berry, warm spice, rich floral and cedar characters. The palate displays excellent richness and generosity, combined with plump mouthfeel and velvety texture, leading to a lengthy sumptuous finish.94pts” (Sam Kim, Wine Orbit). “An exciting Barossa Shiraz which comes from a single site. After a ten day fermentation, the wine spent a further fifteen months in a mix of French and American barriques and hogsheads, 40% of which were new. This is a vibrant mauve/purple with swirling aromas of plums, chocolate, coffee grinds, florals, flesh and blackberries. A sour cherry note emerges on the palate, along with more dark chocolate. The wine is generous in every respect. There is good extraction, fine balance and excellent length. Silky tannins round out proceedings, making for a cracking Shiraz. Enjoy over the next eight to ten years.94pts.” (Ken Gargett, WinePilot).
Torbreck Sporran TOR Vintners Shriaz
Dark red in colour. This wine has a complex nose of dark fruits, blueberry, herbs, spice & pepper. The palate is diverse and fine with dark plum & black fruits all to the fore in this rich & succulent wine that will age well into the future.
