This classic Langhorne Creek Shiraz was specially produced using old vine fruit grown on the estate. It’s a rich, full bodied wine showing lifted aromatics of plums and dark chocolate.

The 2016 vintage offers a clarity of vision that will allow 2016 Heartland One to grow and prosper for many years to come. The intensity of this wine provides all the impetus required for long term cellaring, while the deft handling of oak and the finely tuned acidity will ensure that it stays on track to be a balanced and generous wine. Dark fruit dominates the palate at this stage, while the structure is discernable and ready to support the wine.

To the eye it is all impenetrable, opaque purple. Aromas of fresh boysenberry and homemade plum jam are accented by classic cinnamon, liquorice and black pepper. The palate is fresh, lively and layered with dark forest fruits. Well-integrated tannins carry the fruit through to a long finish. Enjoy now and over the next decade.

Bleasdale's Senior Winemaker Paul Hotker is James Hallidays Winemaker of the Year 2018. The magnificent fruit for Bleasdales Powder Monkey comes from Hotker's finest Shiraz block, directly behind the winery the oldest in Langhorne Creek. Powder Monkey is named in honour of a young Frank Potts who, at age nine, joined the British Royal Navy as a powder monkey diminutive crew members charged with carrying gunpowder during battle. Later, in 1850, an older and wiser Frank Potts would found the first winery in Langhorne Creek.

Ingoldby McLaren Vale Shiraz is deep red in colour with purple hues. Red berries and plums on the nose, a spicy, peppery, plummy palate with good length of flavour and a smooth, lingering finish.

Leconfield regularly produce fine full flavoured Shiraz. This release from McLaren Vale shows spicy berry-like varietal character with some minty-chocolately regional hints balanced tannins and well judged oak.

The Adams brothers and their vineyard are responsible for many of the iconic wines that take pride of place in many cellars. Their Reserve Shiraz is so highly thought of, it sits in the Outstanding category in Langton's Classification of Australian Wine. With fruit sourced from the '20 Rows' block in Langhorne Creek owned by the Borrett family, this is a Shiraz of serious weight and body. Still very young, aromas of violets, lavender and herbs are balanced with traditional fruit notes of blueberries and spice. Big and fleshy on the palate while still showing supreme complexity, this is a wine that needs some decanting before enjoying the saturating flavours that Noon can offer.
