Powerful yet quite elegant with a sweet mix of black cherry, liquorice and mocha, deep tannins, fresh acidity, lovely oak and a long, sinewy finish.

Nine Lives Stone Wall Shiraz 2021 is deep purple in hue with aromas of dark fruits, plum, blackberry, and hints of cinnamon and nutmeg spice. The palate leads with generous flavours of blackberry and satsuma plum, alongside spice, toasty oak and graphite. The palate is framed by fine silky tannins and persistent fruit length.

Sourced from multiclonal selections and matured in 1 yr old French oak, this wine delivers a bold intensity of blackberry, cherry and plum, with whole bunch fermentation adding lift and depth. A subtle, savoury herbal note emerges gracefully through the mid palate, wrapped in beautifully silky tannins and supported by a firm, finely structured backbone. Vibrant spice, a hallmark of the Adelaide Hills, threads through the wine, while the oak integrates seamlessly, rounding out the layers of flavour. This is a classic cool-climate medium bodied Australian Shiraz made from our best close planted Shiraz block with approx 4,444 vines per hectare compared to the usual Australian 1,850 vine per hectare all with of focus on high quality low yielding vines allowing the fruit characters to come to the fore. Hand-picked, small batch fermentation and maturation in French oak barrels for approx. 20 months has produced a wine with spice and ripe fruit, white pepper, cloves, cedar, orange peel, blackberry and a combination of strongly savoury and sweeter berried flavours developing into an extremelly interesting wine.

A refined expression of cool climate Shiraz, sourced from a slightly warmer pocket of the Adelaide Hills to deliver both vibrancy and depth. Bursting with dark red and black fruits. Think juicy plum, blackberry and ripe cherry. The palate is plush and fruit forward before giving way to a beautifully spiced mid palate reminiscent of Christmas cake and clove with a hint of black pepper. Around 30% new French oak brings subtle toast and warmth to the finish, adding layers of complexity without overpowering the wine's silky structure. Elegant, balanced and undeniably moreish. This is a polished Adelaide Hills Shiraz with both poise and personality.
