Croser was created as it was believed that the right region in Australia could produce sparkling wine to rival Champagne. That region is Piccadilly in the Adelaide Hills. The first vintage of Croser was released in 1985 and the winemaking philosophy continues today starting in the vineyard where all the vines are hand pruned, the grapes hand picked, the fruit whole bunch pressed, and the wines hand crafted in the traditional method. As is the tradition with non vintage Champagne, this wine is a blend of the current vintage Croser with reserve wine from several older vintages, with each vintage adding distinctive qualities to the final blend. Croser Non Vintage stays true to the aperitif style of Vintage Croser, showcasing a rich, full blend of pinot noir and chardonnay from selected sites in the cool climate Piccadilly Valley and other parts of the Adelaide Hills.

This latest release from Petaluma Croser is a non vintage sparkling wine. The classic blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay offers a delicate bouquet of fresh citrus and white peach with a light yeastiness on the nose. Persistence bubbles with a dry long finish.

With a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, the bouquet offers delightful lifted aromas of strawberry, lemon citrus and underlying notes of biscotti. The palate is elegant and well integrated displaying intense strawberry, nectarine and cashew characters enhanced by partial malolactic fermentation and extended time on yeast lees. The natural acidity provides excellent structure and finesse, with a mouthwatering citrus and nougat finish.

The grapes used to craft The Katana Chardonnay were handpicked, chilled overnight, and whole bunch pressed. The juice was rough settled, and transferred to French oak barriques for fermentation. This process led to the creation of a pale straw coloured wine with golden yellow highlights along the edges. This wonderful Chardonnay presents a supple core of citrus blossom and white stone fruit characters, enhanced by mineral notes. The juicy palate contains flavours of bright fruits and French oak supported by crisp acidity, ending in a lively and captivating climax. This alluring white wine can be enjoyed within 5 years from vintage. Drink it with potato soup, roasted vegetable pizza, and chorizo and sweet potato risotto.

Longviews Shiraz has all the hallmarks of a cool-climate style - spicy, savoury with crunchy berry fruit. The Barbera provides a juicy, cherry-like brightness and taut acid backbone that gives the wine wonderful structure.

The Pawn Wine Co. began in 2002 as an experiment between friends - winemaker Tom Keelan and vigneron David Blows. Tom and David realised the potential of these varietals to make old world wine styles and determined that they be allowed to shine in their own right. The first vintage of The Pawn received so many accolades, Tom set out to identify other idyllic viticultural sites and hand selected parcels of fruit within the Adelaide Hills to produce wines that are not only a bit unconventional, but enjoyable to drink, incredibly food friendly, and made in a style that reflects their true origins the ultimate in hand crafted, Adelaide Hills, Artisinal wine.
