A fine-boned Chardonnay that reflects vintage conditions and the character of a unique vineyard site purchased by Shaw + Smith in 2012. Inaugural vintage: 2014. Planted in 1999, the vineyard has east and west facing aspects and reaches 500 meters above sea level. The soil is brown loam over clay with some broken shale and stone on the ridges. The wine is100% hand-picked and whole-bunch pressed, then fermented and matured on lees in 500-litre French oak puncheons (30% new) for 9 months.

Oakridge 864 Pinot Noir is a true single vineyard expression of Pinot Noir by one of the Yarra Valley's premier producers. A nose of dark cherry and plum greets you followed by a palate that is both concentrated and dense. Fruit flavours of framboise, dark cherry and forest floor carry off a truly remarkable Pinot.

The house of Besserat de Bellefon was founded in 1843 near Ay in Champagne, and is now based in Epernay. The hallmark of the house is the lower than normal pressure that the wine is kept at under cork. This lower than normal pressure does not reduce the effervescence, but softens it, allowing the wine to partner better with food. The Oakridge 864 range is a showcase of highly detailed micro-selections from the most exceptional single vineyard sites in the Yarra Valley. This Chardonnay comes from the Henk Vineyard, Aqueduct Block in Woori Yallock, a north-facing site at 240 metres elevation. Planted in 2008, the vineyard’s red volcanic soils and cool climate produce wines of precision, purity and depth. A vibrant Chardonnay with lifted aromas of freshly squeezed lemon, citrus zest, white flowers and nougat, layered with notes of subtle flint, ginger and roasted hazelnut. The palate delivers an immediate burst of mouth-filling lemon and lime, accompanied by soft nougat and a deft touch of charred caramel. A cool, driving line of acidity cuts through the core, leaving the mouth salivating, while the texture is glass-smooth with a finish evocative of polished river stones. A classic, understated, yet powerful Aqueduct Chardonnay.

This classic Yarra Valley Shiraz from Yeringberg is showing those trademark Shiraz characters of cracked black pepper and great fruit weight, there is also some good concentration and a long powdery tannin finish.

Made solely from the original 1969 plantings, the Yarra Yering Chardonnay is fermented traditionally in open top fermenters and crafted to age in bottle for extended periods. The wine goes through 100% malolactic fermentation which adds complexity and roundness without foregoing natural acidity and structure. Aged in 40% new French oak, this classic white wine combines intense opulence with finesse & textural flintiness.
