A wonderful Barolo from Maretti showcasing great value for the region. The colour is dark garnet with ruby highlights. It has a clear-cut, intense nose with overtones of roses, spices, earthy undertones with nuanced vanilla notes. The taste is dry, but soft, full-bodied, velvety and well balanced, and is very long-lasting. Classic Barolo like this works well with rich braised meat dishes or a mushroom risotto.

The 2018 Nebbiolo was handpicked on the 28th March. This is realativly early for this variety. The fruit was the transfered to ther Cloankilla Winery were Bryan Martin natuarlly ferments the berries virtually undamaged for 4 weeks. The ferment begins within the berry and continues very slowly over time. The wine is then transferred into Oak Puncheons where it awaits bottling.

Discover the refined elegance of Heathcote Estate Single Vineyard Nebbiolo 2021, a 750mL gem from Victoria’s Heathcote region, crafted by acclaimed winemaker Tom Carson. Sourced from a new vineyard block established in 2017 and certified organic in September 2021, this inaugural Nebbiolo release was hand-picked in mid-April, seven weeks after the Shiraz, allowing extended ripening into autumn. Whole berries underwent natural fermentation in oak vats, followed by maturation in older French oak 500L barrels until bottling in February 2022, yielding a mid-crimson red hue at 14% ABV. The nose is pure Nebbiolo, with uncluttered aromas of pure red fruits, rose petals, cranberry, pomegranate, Campari, and a lick of wet stone. The palate is super fine and detailed, offering pure red fruits, firm tannins, and a fine acid line, finishing long and savoury with notes of undergrowth, cherries, tobacco, and decayed roses. Described as “most impressive” by Campbell Mattinson of The Wine Front, this Nebbiolo pairs beautifully with heavy sauces or flavourful meat dishes like braised lamb, with 10 plus years of cellaring potential. A single-grape sparkling wine made with Nebbiolo accordingly to the Classic Method. Dedicated to Daniela’s mother, Maria Teresa. Born in 2011, it is the third sparkling wine by Antica Cascina Conti di Roero: a successful experiment by Gigi, who simply adores bubbly. Nebbiolo retains its primary perfumes when make as a sparkling wine. It is picked at the end of August before the grapes are fully ripe and the acidity is still evident. Brilliant soft pink, with a fine, persistent perlage. It has an open perfume, reminiscent of crusty bread and scents of cherry and rose. Elegant, fresh and savoury on the palate, with a good acid content and an evident note of roses.
