Deep red color. The nose is complex with red fruits and figs, followed by aromas of blackcurrant. On the palate, the wine is round with soft tannins, displaying generous aromas of blueberry and blackberry. Well balanced, with a good persistence on the finish.

Forester Estate is owned by Vignerons Kevin and Jenny McKay. It’s situated in Yallingup, in the northern Margaret River region. Kevin’s motto is to build complexity and texture into his wines literally from the ground up! The superb wines are made by Todd Payne who has had “a distinguished career, starting in the Great Southern, then the Napa, Plantagenet, Esk Valley in Hawke’s Bay, and on to the Northern Rhône” (Halliday). This is a beautifully expressive wine. Inky, rich and herbal Cabernet melds with plummy, velvety, mouthfilling Merlot to create a really layered and complex wine you want to keep on sipping.

Bold aroma’s of blackcurrant fruit with black plum and woody spice. This has the hallmark of riper Cabernet wines, being bold in the beginning and bold to the end. Aromas of perfumed violets and roses laced with wild berries and juicy cassis are well framed by a backbone of tobacco leaf and musk. The palate is poised, with fruit concentration and silky tannins that spread softly across the palate with unctuous, juicy satsuma plum, mulberry, cherry, and cigar box notes. The well-orchestrated length unfolds fine-grained tannins, wrapping around the palate.

This blend, sourced from premium Australian wine regions, has spicy dark berry fruit flavours which are enhanced by a smooth and well rounded palate.

An iconic Australian blend and one of the most popular wines from Penfolds' Koonunga Hill range, this Shiraz Cabernet offers exceptional value. The wine is loaded with raspberry, mulberry and redcurrant are supported by a whisper of grainny tannins and well integrated oak backbone.

The French component of this wine was made at two of the Dourthe-owned wineries. Australian components of this wine were made at Penfolds Nuriootpa Winery in South Australia. Both components were blended and bottled in South Australia for a truly one-of-a-kind release.

The 2025 Pickers Hut Cabernet Sauvignon opens with expressive aromas of ripe blackcurrant, blackberry, and dark cherry, complemented by subtle notes of cedar, vanilla, and a hint of spice. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, showcasing well-structured tannins and balanced acidity. Flavors of dark fruit are layered with touches of oak, cocoa, and gentle herbal nuances, leading to a smooth, lingering finish.

Tim Knappstein is a legend of the wine industry and his wines always impress. This one comes from two vineyards in the beautiful Adelaide Hills at Carey Gully and Piccadilly.
