The Hidden Cave range from Devil's Lair is the chance for the winemakers at this iconic Margaret River winery to express the daring and exciting edge to the regions wines. Their Semillon Sauvignon Blanc is a racy little aromatic white with exotic aromas of crushed basil and lychee that are followed by flavours of gooseberry, mango and passionfruit. All capped off with some lime zest on the finish to complete this supreme crisp dry white wine.

In the glass: Pale lemon with a green hue. On the nose: Gooseberry, grapefruit and smokey oak aromas. On the palate: Layered and complex with lingering flavour persistence, lovely savoury layers of citrus fruit and faint tropicals, refreshing acidity and obvious yet good quality oak. The Raconteur is sourced from Carl Linder's 80 year old Cabernet Sauvignon Vineyard located in the Barossa Valley; these old vines are hand harvested and made using traditional techniques by Vinaceous contract winemaker Elena Brooks (Dandelion Vineyards). The wine is matured in oak and selected by Vinaceous Winemakers Mike Kerrigan and Nick Stacy and sent to West Cape Howe Wine (WA) for finishing, fining, blending and bottling by Vinaceous. The Raconteur 'breaks the mold' for Barossa Cabernet; lush, rich and deep purple in colour with bright hues, the aroma leaps from the glass with violets and black berry and mocha notes. Ripe fleshy black currants and cassis complement the overall palate with intensity, weight, structure and texture. Along with lip-smacking tannins and fine oak nuances, the Raconteur can easily be enjoyed on immediate opening or be cellared in the short term.

This beautiful wine displays an attractive ruby red colour in a glass. The well balanced bouquet emits medium intensity fragrances of blackberry, dried herbs and earth. It offers coffee, toasted oak and vanilla characters towards the end. The nose smoothly makes way for a lush palate, filled with flavours of juicy forest fruits and soft vanilla, leading to savoury notes. Together with palate coating tannins, these characters culminate in a cocoa and coffee dominated finish.

Straw and cut-grass from the sauvignon blanc balance this wine beautifully with gently tropical fruits providing enough acidity to cleanse and draw out the finish. The palate is soft and plush, with long acidity and a strong finish.

Grape variety - Semillon 82%, Chenin Blanc 17%, Chardonnay 1%. Colour - Pale green - straw. Aroma - Fresh and fruit driven, displaying elegant characters of apple, pear, flint and fennel. There is a floral perfume along with subtle yeast lees complexity. Palate - Light and textured with a fine creamy texture. Pear, fennel, lime and honeydew melon dominate the clean and lively palate. A wine with great drinkability. Food matches - Fresh seafood and light poultry. Viticulture - Fruit is sourced from neighboring properties in the most northern sub-region of Margaret River. Direct input from Forester`s viticulturist ensures well balanced canopies and crops are grown for the desired fresh fruit driven style. The 2022 vintage was a mild year for white grapes in Margaret River, allowing plenty of time during January and February to ripen the fruit to our specification. Grapes were harvested at a lower baume to achieve the delicate style. Winemaking - Modern white wine making techniques are employed in the production of the Brut Cuvee, with temperature control considered critical from the moment the fruit reaches the winery. The fruit is destemmed and crushed, then must chilled and pressed off skins in a very short space of time. A long cool fermentation follows, allowing for the retention of the delicate fruit characters in the base wine.

Selected parcels of Sauvignon Blanc (87%) and Semillon (13%) from Western Australia’s premier Margaret River region, were fermented separately, without oak maturation and blended to deliver a wine with a little more mid-palate weight than our 100% Sauvignon Blanc – and with a distinctive citrus edge to the fruit spectrum. We’re pleased with its crispness and balance.

Howard Park Sauvignon Blanc contains a fragrant nose of snow peas and guava with a little passionfruit which is a precursor to a palate that's juicy and tight with citrus acidity. A barrel fermented component ensures that there is a level of complexity that separates it from its contemporaries.

A blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, this attractive white from Leeuwin Estate shows concentrated tropical fruit characters, such as honeydew melons, pineapples and fresh lime along with aromatic floral notes of Jasmine, frangipani with hints of warm spices on the nose. It is well rounded with vibrant citrus fruits and balanced acidity on the palate. Length finish and great with Asian food.
