Leconfield Coonawarra was established in 1974 by noted oenologist by Sydney Hamilton. Through Sydney's nephew, Dr Richard Hamilton, it remains a family wine estate renowned for the distinctive regional wine it produces. Cabernet Franc (along with Sauvignon Blanc) is an ancestor of Cabernet Sauvignon. Traditionally, it is renowned for producing subtle, elegant styles. Our Cabernet Franc, from one hectare planted in 1892, produces a fragrant wine during fermentation, reminiscent of rose blossoms. A richness of flavour with a silky texture and medium body. The rounded tannins provide a lovely persistence. Exquisite with almost any meal.

Bowen Estate Shiraz shared similar firm structure as it's sibling, the Cabernet Sauvignon. It's lifted aromas of ripe black fruits, warming spices and hint of earthy background makes it a welcoming drink with hearty food.

'Black Label' Cabernet Sauvignon, which was first vintaged in 1954, has evolved markedly over the decades. It is arguably Australia's most recognised Cabernet Sauvignon, and has more than any other, helped define Coonawarra. The wine is matured in new and seasoned French oak for 12 to 18 months. A classic Coonawarra Cabernet with pristine dark berry/ cassis aromas, fine grained tannins and underlying savoury nuances, it develops into a rich, chocolaty wine with age. In a super vintage, this wine can look astonishingly like a 2nd or 3rd growth Bordeaux with its pure cassis aromas and cedary complexity. One of the established names of Coonawarra, Redman Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from hand pruned low yielding mature vines. Ripe blackcurrant fruit and vanillin oak make this fine drinking now.

Appears dark red with deep purple hues. Showing a lifted perfumed nose of blackcurrant and cassis fruit and followed by a chocolate oak a hint of mint and enticing spice character. The palate shows dark berry fruit flavours upfront with hints of dried herbs and red florals. Supple varietal tannins provide a classical framework and weight to the wine which finishes with integrated fruit and oak driving a long finish. Perfect with roast lamb and mint sauce.

Packed full of mint, blackcurrants, spice and cedary oak, this wine is indicative of how a great the 2004 vintage was. Drinking beautifully now.
