Grenache has long been a stalwart of the South Australian wine scene and Penfolds have been blending Grenache with Shiraz since the 1950's. Recent years has seen a growing trend for the luscious perfumed styles like those emanating out of the northern Rhône and the Bin 138 produces a brilliant example. The Gardens of Moppa wines are an expression of the wines from the Barossa sub region of Moppa. The fruit is sourced from a blend of vineyards.Deep crimson purple. Dark, glossy, concentrated and spicy purple berries and integrated oak. Very composed entry with spiced plum compote, deep-set tannins and plenty of toasty oak. Very deep and firm making it an iron fist in a velvet glove.

Sourced from vines that were planted in the sandy soils of the Moppa sub-region in 1900. Standing the test of time, these old vines produce rarefied and unique wine expressions.Medium to deep ruby. Dried herb, raspberry, dark cherry and orange zest. Fleshy, bright and fresh, with a seductive core of red fruits, attractive herb and spice complexity, framed by long, savoury tannins. A delicious wine.

This Barossa beauty is one for a special occasion. The dark, brooding regional characters of plum, red cherry and liquorice are all to the fore of this wine. The palate is focused and linear, with dark chocolate notes and an elegant long finish. (Limited stock)

The Penfolds Bin 150 Marananga Shiraz is a relatively new addition to the Penfolds stable, sourced from the Barossan sub-district, Marananga. Simply a revelation, this wine is an inky, black beast in the glass with lashings of dark chocolate and coffee accented fruit, yet this years offering shows a lingering, soft structured finish that will see the wine cellar very nicely.

This Two Hands Shiraz is full bodied but very buoyant. Bright flavours are lifted and accented by notes of fresh blue and blackberry with hints of plum. Creamy complexity through the palate adds depth and interesting texture. Palate has great depth and a coating nature but doesnt feel heavy. Tannins start mid-palate and leave a lovely rolling chewy nature. Spicy through the finish with vanilla and sweet baking spices.

One of the benchmarks of Barossa Shiraz, Peter Lehmann's Stonewell is a classic example of the rich concentrated old vine style. While bold on the palate, there is always an inherent complexity to the Stonewell that enables it to be compared with all of the great Australian wines produced today.

St Hallett's Blackwell is big Shiraz for the lovers of ripe concentrated fruit and a generous measure of vanillin oak. A classic regional style, enjoy this beauty with robust beef or game dishes.

The Navy Strength Gin offers the front palate of a full bodied and flavoursome GIN with characters of black olives, bergamot & orange peel and fragrant spices, with little heat and long-lasting flavour. Clean Finish Adding the Gin into a French Barrique barrel for 2- 3 months which originally had our 100-year-old Shiraz stored, it has extracted the elegance of fine shiraz notes of mulberry, plum and spiced fruit cake characters. With a rich Ruby colour when adding your favourite mixer this shows a vibrant Pink Diamond colour

At the foot of the iconic Kaiserstuhl mountain, the early Silesian settlers of the Barossa constructed a stone altar a sanctuary for prayer in their new homeland. The Krondorf Stone Altar Shiraz is a tribute to the settlers resourcefulness and resilience, which helped these old resilient vines. This 2020 vintage sources its grapes from a very small plot of elegantly aged and interesting vines in the Barossa sub-region of Ebernezer. Crafted by Head Winemaker Nick Badrice, the Krondorf Stone Altar Grenache is all about precision and focus; with concentrated aromas of black cherries with intense earthy and aniseed character leading to a palate of bramble and spice with freshly cut fig, lovely freshness and structure from subtle notes from new and seasoned premium oak barrels. Elegantly poised, with wonderful freshness. Held back for flavour development before release.
