The William Patrick is the Auld Family's flagship Shiraz, paying homage to Australian wine pioneer William Patrick Auld.This rich Barossa shiraz reflects the regions famed soils, with grapes taken from vineyards on the Valley floor. A full-bodied, soft, thick-set, unapologetically warm-climate shiraz.

Sourced from a single vineyard planted in 1921 these vines are all you would expect of a vineyard approaching 100 years of age, gnarled, twisted and expressing their many years of hardship.

A fantastic 2018 Shiraz from the Barossa Valley, made from 50 year old vines, Thomas white's best signature collection. Basket pressed and aged in seasoned French oak. The fragrant bouquet shows blackberry, mulberry, vanilla oak and cake spice aromas, followed by a wonderfully weighted palate that's plump and flavoursome.

Reserve Black Velvet Shiraz 2015 This is a perfect blend of red and white grape varieties developed in the Cotes du Rhone district in Southern France. It is made possible due to both varieties maturing at the same time. They are crushed and fermented together to merge the flavours of these two noble varieties. Usually 3-5% Viognier is ample to introduce the floral aromas and contribute to the wines softness in the mouth. This wine has retained the Shiraz characters of cherry and raspberry with Viognier adding the floral aromas and slipperiness in the mouth.

This special edition 1.5 Litre Magnum 2021 Grand Barossa Shiraz celebrates 2023: The Year of the Rabbit, with both hosting and gifting in mind. A classic Barossa Shiraz that shows the classic dark plum, blackberry, exotic spice and toasty flavours of the region, making a wine of great class and refinement.

Vintage conditions The 2019 growing season was a challenging one from the start with a very dry winter and spring with frost events in September disrupting budburst. Windy conditions affected flowering and further frost episodes and hail in November caused further challenges. Very hot and dry conditions during summer and lack of rain resulted in small berries and low bunch weights resulting in the lowest yields in recent decades. The resultant wines have great colour, intense flavours and firm tannins. Vineyard selection The “Home Block” Shiraz was exclusively sourced from our estate-grown Block 3A Shiraz vines planted in 1994. Winemaking Once the grapes have been identified to be of optimum maturation and flavour ripeness, the parcels are brought into the winery where they are destemmed and crushed into the open top fermenters. Manual pump overs are conducted twice daily to provide extraction of colour, flavour and tannins. Towards the end of fermentation, the wine is drained and then pressed to a combination of predominately new French oak barrels for 19 months maturation. Careful barrel selection takes place before the wine is blended. The wine is neither fined nor filtered. Tasting Evaluation Colour: Dark purple, with almost black core. Aroma: Intense bouquet of dark plum, black cherry, espresso, with mocha notes. Vanilla pod and gingernut biscuit hide in the background. Palate: Saturated palate of dark berries, savoury French oak spice complimented with fine grain tannins. Vibrant red apple acidity provides focus and length.

Langmeil Winery has a rich history dating back to 1842, when Christian Auricht established one of the Barossa's first trading villages on the banks of the North Para River and named it Langmeil. Auricht had migrated from Prussia in 1838 seeking religious freedom for his family in the new world. He established a smithy and began tending a mixed farm and in 1843 he planted one acre of Shiraz vines on the estate, which is still producing fruit today. The vineyard is believed to be the oldest surviving Shiraz vineyard in the world and is now the source of Langmeil's icon wine, The Freedom 1843 Shiraz. The winery changed hands several times over the years and in 1996, three local mates collaborated to purchase and restore the property. They revived the old vineyard and named it The Freedom and Langmeil's first harvest from the vineyard was in 1997. Today, Langmeil is family-owned and internationally recognized as one of the Barossa's premium wine producers. The winery attracts visitors from all over the world to its cellar door and the restored village grounds. Langmeil's commitment to making wines that express and embrace the unique characteristics of the Barossa high country is evident in its custodianship of the historic Eden Valley vineyard, which is home to the Pure Eden Shiraz vineyard and the single vineyard old vine Wattle Brae Riesling and High Road Chardonnay. The Freedom 1843 Shiraz has been lauded by wine critics and was re-classified in the prestigious Langton's Classification VII honour roll in the 'Outstanding' category, which describes "The best of Australian winemaking practices, vineyard provenance and regional voice." The Freedom Cellar, which was originally the Cobbler's shop in the historic trading village, has been restored and is now the ultimate location to sample Langmeil's Old Vine Garden wines as part of an intimately hosted winery and historic vineyard experience. Sparkling Shiraz is a wine style that is uniquely Australian, and Langmeil Winery has made a significant contribution to its production. The wine is a deep crimson in colour with a red rim and aromas of chocolate and rich ripe plums with hints of roasty, savoury notes and earthy nuances. On the palate, the chocolate and ripe fruit flavours blend together with a creamy, fine bead, and savoury characters add complexity with balanced tannins and a sweet round finish. The Langmeil Sparkling Shiraz is a Non Vintage, bottle-fermented Shiraz, left on its lees for 24 months and liquored with their own vintage fortified Shiraz. The wine has a medium depth, crimson colour with a red rim and aromas of rich, ripe plum and mulberry jam with a dollop of cream on a fresh scone. The juicy fruits and creamy vanilla mingle on the palate with an amazingly fine bead, and saucy and savoury secondary characters from the older base wines add to the complexity with suede-like tannins and balanced sweetness rounding off the finish.

This bold Shiraz deliveres notes of dark blackcurrant, along with rich aromas of plum and cherry. Touches of pepper spice and oak complete the palate for a layered and textured finish.
