The Burge family are Barossa royalty with a history that dates back to 1885 when Grant Burge's Great Great Grandfather, John Burge, immigrated to Australia. Being the 5th Generation Burge, this wine pays tribute to the great impact the Burge family continues to have over the great regions history. The Cabernet Merlot is a wonderfully lush and vibrant wine with typical Barossa notes of vanilla and blueberry all kept in wonderful balance with judicious use of oak.

Aroma: Complex ripe cherry jam and plum aromas on the nose, with a hint of vanilla. Palate: Rich black cherry and plum with liquorice and a hint of mint on the palate with length and finesse. The intensity on this is turned all the way up.

Located in High Eden, a sub-region of the Barossa, approximately 550 metres above sea level, Mountadam was originally established in 1972 by the late David Wynn for his winemaking son Adam. Since 2005, it has returned to being a family owned and run winery, with David and Jenni Brown overseeing its success. With Phil Lehmann, the son of Peter Lehmann, as chief winemaker, they are going from strength-to-strength. High Eden’s chilly heights lead to harvests up to a month later than those in neighbouring Eden Valley. The result is gorgeous Cabernet like this, full of dark fruit and chocolate.

Brightly fruited and immediately appealing, the inviting bouquet shows Granny Smith apple, capsicum, and lemon zest aromas. The palate displays excellent fruit purity and intensity, well supported by crisp acidity, finishing long and flavoursome.

A fruit driven mid palate is laden with red cherry, plums and raspberries. The wine has a long, crisp and refreshing finish due to the Cabernets firm and youthful grape tannin framed with elegant and spicy oak. A great drinking wine of complexity and substance.

Gravel Track pays tribute to the long gravel and limestone track that winds its way through our historic 60-year-old Farms vineyard. Brimming with blackcurrant and black cherry nuances and with layers of spice and tobacco on the nose, this is a powerful expression of the variety. Lashings of blackcurrant on the palate are complemented by lengthy, fine grained tannins and hints of cedar oak.

A traditional Barossa wine, its rich and deep with scents of blackberry and blackcurrant coupled with sweet ripe fruit flavours. Its a great choice when ordering or cooking pizza.

The complex palate reveals itself with style. Traditionally assertive Coonawarra tannins are evident at first, before giving way to a mid palate filled with ripe cassis, olive tapenade and complex briary hints. Fine, dusty tannins give excellent line and length, and are layered with sweet and toasty characters reminiscent of crýme brýlýe. Our unique Double Barrel technique of finishing in aged Irish whiskey barrels has integrated the myriad of flavours and brought extra richness to the palate.
