Brown Brothers continue their run of good form with yet another brilliant sparkling wine that offers jaw-dropping value for money. The wine explodes in the mouth a soft creamy feeling that is a direct result of the very fine bubble. The green apple flavours carry through to the palate with lemon citrus notes accompanied by the soft creaminess and a delicate and refreshing acid on the finish. Sourced from dry-grown, hand tended vines in the north east of Victoria, this Beechworth Chardonnay from Savaterre will surely convince even the most hardened Chardonnay critic that modern Australian Chardonnay is of supreme world-class standard. Keppell Smith handcrafts a Chardonnay of utmost power and concentration that produces a length of flavour that borders on the immortal.

Another outstanding Pinot Grigio from Pizzini. Aromas of ripe pear lead the way in the bouquet and the palate is fresh with crisp, zippy acidity very true to the grigio style. Enjoy it with seafood.

Brokenwood continue to push the boundaries with their Chardonnay - this release sees the majority of fruit sourced from the exciting Beechworth region and winemaking inputs emphasise complexity.

Chris Catlow of Sentio Wines has great skill in making Chardonnay, having spent five vintages with Benjamin Leroux in Burgundy and seven on the Mornington Peninsula. Sourced from a selection of premium Beechworth vineyards Chris allows the fruit to express itself without overbearing winemaking. Stone fruit, citrus, spice, minerality with a touch of honeysuckle. All the intensity one expects from Beechworth Chardonnay with great precision and purity.

Predominantly from the family estate vineyard at Moyhu on the King River with two other small vineyards.

Occasionally, when rare parcels of particularly outstanding Beechworth grapes become available, Savaterre's wine maker Keppell Smith likes to create something unique, like this Chardonnay, and bottle it under Savaterre's Frere Cadet (Younger Brother) label. These wines are created with the same attention to detail that goes into their premium Savaterre label.

Fiano is one of the newer Italian arrivals on the scene and we couldn’t be happier that it’s here. Fiano is a versatile grape and suits a lot of growing conditions, from the Mediterranean climate of McLaren Vale to the alpine freshness of the King Valley. This KV example is a touch lighter and brighter than what you’d get from the Vale - sitting closer to grigio than say, viognier. There is still heaps of fruit and florals in this wine and acid to accompany all sorts of foods - though no doubt best with something southern Italian.

A light straw colour with a fine persistent bead. The nose is lifted with a rich yeast autolysis character and hints of citrus and apple. The palate is full bodied, complex and rich with prominent lemon and lime flavours and a bready character that lingers. The palate is creamy and elegant with a crisp, dry finish and refreshing acidity.
