Hand crafted and small batch distilled in a bespoke copper pot still, Reid+Reid NZ Native Gin is a unique New Zealand gin created in Martinborough by two brothers. After a two-year mission foraging the landscapes of NZ for aromatic native plants that best compliment a classic dry gin, the brothers settled on Kawakawa, Manuka and Horopito making it a quintessential New Zealand gin.Juniper and floral notes followed by citrus. Yarra Valley makes some of the finest wines in the world. In 2015, Four Pillars combined Rare Dry Gin with some of the best Shiraz Grapes in Australia to create Bloody Shiraz Gin for the first time. 2018 release has great depth of colour compared to previous releases. After visiting Cobram Estate during olive harvest we realised olive oil could be a brilliant botanical alongside olive leaf. The aroma, flavour and texture of fresh olive is stunning, and we did a year of trials before finalising the recipe for this gin. The botanicals include a big base of juniper with a savoury overlay of coriander seed, rosemary, olive leaf, olive oil, bay leaf, lemon myrtle, macadamia, orris root, and fresh lemon and grapefruit. Fresh ingredients were vapour infused while the others macerated in the pot. We have used olive leaf and oil from Picual, Hojiblanca and Coratina varieties. This gin is savoury, textual and bright. Perfect for any Martini - Gibson, dirty or dry with a twist. For a longer drink, try it in a Spanish-inspired gintonic, with rosemary and lemon.
