Vibrant, youthful colour, medium density and lovely purple tints for this Shiraz by Brokenwood. Being a cooler year the aromas are more on the spice cherry side than ripe and opulent. Medium weight palate and again spice and savoury edges. The tell-tale McLaren Vale jube fruit is there along with background oak.

Brokenwood Shiraz is a ripe and generous Shiraz with lifted cherry and mint aromas nicely balanced with sweet chocolate notes on the nose and a soft rich palate with savoury cedary flavours and fine grained tannins on the finish.

Drink the Brokenwood Semillon young for its zesty lime and lemon flavours or age it for 4-6 years to experience the succulent honeyed flavours of aged Semillon.

The freshness of this wine demonstrates why Hunter semillon is possibly the most under-rated wine style in the world. The aromas centre around lemon, lime and fresh hay, and the palate is decidedly linear, based on a spine of acidity. This exceptional wine, at six years of age, is still at least five away from its optimum drinking window. Our flagship wine. Bright mid-density color with purple hues just adding to the appeal. The use of large format French oak allows the red spice and bramble fruit of Hunter Shiraz to shine. Initial palate is very supple and complete, giving a lovely flow from start to finish. The importance of acidity can never be underestimated as this underpins the structure and carry. A classic, medium weight Hunter Valley Shiraz with fine long tannins with persistent length. A wine that will only build with time.

A very appealing yellow/green tinted colour. Tropical aromas with plenty of primary fruit as a young wine. Minimal oak influence, of which adds a slight bran meal note. More tropical fruit on the palate, balanced by bright zesty acidity. An excellent and flavoursome Chardonnay.

Brokenwood Pinot Gris is sourced from a wonderful vineyard site in Beechworth that allows this rich and textural Pinot Gris to show its true colours. Aromas and flavours of peach, melon, honeysuckle and candied pear are all present in a delicious true Gris style.

Brokenwood and the Hunter Valley region is experience somewhat of a renaissance of late. Quality wines for a great prices just like this nice Hunter Shiraz. Typical earthy notes with hints of leather and spice all wrapped around dark brooding plum and cherry fruit. Quality oak imparts a subtle cedar character and fine grained tannins complete the wine that finishes long and smooth.
