Some would say McLaren Vale is the spiritual home of Australian Grenache. We are not about to start arguing when Grenache like this one from Chapel Hill are produced. Generous rich red fruits with smattering of dried herbs and a fleshy mid-palate. There is real concentration and complexity to this wine.

Chapel Hill makes great value wines in the maritime climate of McLaren Vale. This Shiraz is a beauty. Dark berries and vanillin oak are evident in the bouquet with spice coming through on the palate.

While normally associated with Grenache and Shiraz blends, Mourvèdre recently has begun to stand on its own two feet as a stand-alone wine. Quite evocative in nature, Chapel Hill's Mourvèdre is a dark and brooding red with wonderful hints of spice and violet tones. Walking the line between medium and full-bodied, this wouldn't be out of place next to either a thick cut steak or a plate of picked Mediterranean vegetables.

Chapel Hill's Cabernet Sauvignon is a superb McLaren Vale wine which rivals others well beyond its price range. Generous blackcurrant, dark cherries, cedar and spice mixed in with fine, firm tannins. This wine can be enjoyed now but will continue to improve with a few years in the cellar.

Sourced from a terraced block that is perched above the picturesque Onkaparinga Gorge, resembling a natural amphitheatre for Chardonnay to proudly express both complexity and varietal finesse. Crafted with a gentle patience, using entirely by-hand winemaking techniques, this wine demonstrates the beauty, complexity and character of place, varietal and vintage. To preserve purity and character, this wine is made with minimal additions and is allowed to clarify naturally without the use of fining or filtration - meaning it's suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

Chapel Hill Sparkling captures the essence of the Adelaide Hills, with pristine fruit purity and seamless texture. A premium Adelaide Hills Chardonnay Pinot Noir blend aged 24 months for a creamy texture. Savour cool climate citrus, fresh strawberry, and complex notes of brioche and almond.

The Hill Block straddles the ridge running through the Chapel Hill estate. The wine was then aged for 19 months in 100% tight grained French oak. The proportion of new oak was kept low to encourage the continued expression of the characters that are unique to the vineyard site.

After cellaring, Chapel Hill’s McLaren Vale Shiraz reveals an even deeper connection to its origin and style. The savoury, brooding edge of McLaren Vale has softened into layers of earthy complexity, while the plush dark fruits remain, now more concentrated and seamless. Time has added polish and elegance, lifting the wine to a beautifully balanced, almost ethereal expression of the region. A refined and mature Shiraz that continues to showcase the very best of McLaren Vale.

With a few years of cellaring, this regal McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon from Chapel Hill has grown even more poised and expressive. The wine still proudly reflects its sense of place, but time has brought added depth and harmony. The sweet core of McLaren Vale fruit is now more refined, with dark berries and cassis layered beneath soft, earthy undertones.
