Louis Roederer Cristal Champagne
Cristal is a remarkably balanced and refined champagne whose length is inimitable. It has a silky texture and fruity aromas, complemented by a powerful mineral quality with white fruit and citrus notes. Cristal is a wine that keeps well: it can be conserved for over twenty years without losing its freshness and character. Produced uniquely during the best years, when the Chardonnay (around 40%) and Pinot noir (around 60%) grapes have attained perfect maturity, Cristal is aged for 6 years in Louis Roederers cellars and left for a further 8 months after dégorgement. Today Louis Roederer remains one of the very few remaining family owned Houses in Champagne with 7th generation Frederic Rouzaud at the helm. From the 100 hectares acquired in 1850 by Louis Roederer, the Domaine today extends over 240 hectares averaging 98% on the official Echelle classification. All vineyard acquisitions follow Louis Roedererâs strict 70% policy â that is ownership of at least 70% of the total production. All Louis Roederer Cuvees are Estate grown with the exception of Brut Premier which is 60% estate fruit and 40% fruit sourced from long-term contracted growers. Louis Roederer farm 65 Ha of their Domaine vineyards under a biodynamic and organic regime as part of what Chef de Cave Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon says is a work in progress. In 2012 Louis Roederer became the largest biodynamic producer in Champagne.

Louis Roederer et Philippe Starck Brut Nature
Conceived as an exchange and shaped by friendship, this wine is first and foremost a result of the free-thinking that came out of a meeting between Louis Roederer’s CEO Frédéric Rouzaud, his cellar master Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon and the designer Philippe Starck. Their conversations led to the creation of the very first Brut Nature in 2006 and the relationship continued to grow over the years to give us the 2009 and 2012 vintages. The Brut Nature was born from an idea of the dreamed-for, perfect champagne. It is a wine that captures the freshness of the clay soils in a sunny year, a wine of truth, the testimony to an encounter, a soil, a year, free spirits and the independent spirit that runs through the Champagne House. It is a champagne that perfectly encapsulates this new exploration of a Louis Roederer terroir. The Louis Roederer et Philippe Starck Brut Nature 2015 has a yellow hue with shimmering highlights and an even flow of lively bubbles. The bouquet is pure, elegant, vertical, rich and concentrated. Nuances of ripe fruit combined with exceptional finesse: fine, delicate citrus peel and vanilla along with warmer notes of baked apple and Tarte Tatin that gradually give way to aromas of nougat. The palate offers a marked and singular contrast: it is very expressionist thanks to the broad, juicy, almost sensual texture of the clay soils in a sunny year, yet distinctly minimalist due to a fresh, pure, mineral and mouth watering backbone associated with its zero dosage. Ripe citrus fruit combines with warm stone notes further accentuating the mouth watering, umami sensation. The finish is light, energetic and ethereal.
Louis Roederer Vintage Brut
Bright yellow hue flecked with gold. Its lively sparkle forms beautiful, even streams of bubbles. Aromas of citrus fruit (lemon) and fresh, zesty notes combined with soft tones of grilled hazelnuts and heady acacia flowers. After aeration, the wine develops hints of fresh wood, subtle spices (pepper, cardamom), cocoa beans, and honey nougat which add depth. The palate is simultaneously smooth, rounded and fresh. The attack is juicy, direct, concentrated and pure, yet exceptionally soft and gives way to a saline freshness endowing it with remarkable mineral precision and discreet elegance. The result is a delicate, fluid, supple, coherent and disconcertingly honest tasting experience! Louis Roederer Brut Vintage 2012, 70% Pinot noir and 30% Chardonnay, a lower 8% of which is wine matured in oak. As noted by the Cellar master: "The perfect product from the Louis Roederer terroir, in which finesse, purity, precision, and harmony highlight the qualities of a great vineyard." Jean-Baptiste Lecaillon. The subtle bouquet, on the first nose, opens out gradually to reveal spring-like notes of fresh citrus fruit (lemon tree rather than lemon fruit) combined with warm, almost smoky, mineral aromas, followed by notes of lightly toasted almonds, one of the signs of the ageing in oak foudres. Louis Roederer Champagne Cristal Rose Vinotheque
Louis Roederer is a highly respected Champagne producer located in the historic city of Reims. The renowned Champagne house, founded in the late 1700s, is still owned and operated by the Roederer family. Their signature style consists of an equal blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with a touch of Pinot Meunier, which comprises approximately one-fifth of the blend. Louis Roederer's most famous wine is Cristal, a prestigious Champagne that has captured the hearts of wine enthusiasts worldwide. The house was founded in 1833 and aimed to capture foreign markets, particularly Russia. Roederer became the wine of choice for the Russian royal family, and Cristal was created for Tsar Alexander II. Louis Roederer acquired grand cru vineyards in Champagne in 1845, which was unusual for the time as most houses were buying grapes from growers. Today, the Roederer vineyards encompass around 240 hectares of land, with around 25% managed biodynamically. This commitment to sustainable farming practices is a testament to the house's dedication to producing high-quality wines that are both delicious and environmentally responsible. Cristal is available in standard and rosé formats, with the latter being less common. The standard vintage Cristal wine is made from the house's best vineyard plots and is a blend of approximately 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. Some parts of the blend are aged in barrels. Cristal rosé is also made from similar proportions of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, but the Pinot Noir is left on skins for a longer time before pressing. Around 20% of the wine is aged in large format oak, resulting in a light rosé colour with hints of onion skin. Cristal wines are also available under the Vinothèque label, which undergoes late disgorging, extended lees aging, and further cellaring in the Louis Roederer cellars in the bottle. Louis Roederer's Cristal Rose Vinothèque 2002 is a unique and exclusive offering that was created to give wine lovers the chance to experience a little bit of the magic of this hidden collection. The wines are stored in ideal conditions, preserving their purity, fruit and the surprising brightness typical of Cristal. Cristal Vinothèque is the end result of a project that offers a wine of eternal youth, displaying all the characteristics of a poised, elegant wine of astonishing character. Aged on its lees for around 10 years before disgorgement, then stored on its cork for a further 10 years, it is a product of time and anticipation. The Louis Roederer Champagne Cristal Rosé Vinothèque 2002 is a truly exceptional and captivating expression of elegance and complexity. This limited edition Champagne, carefully crafted to perfection, offers a sensory experience that is both luxurious and memorable. In the glass, this rosé Champagne showcases a beautiful, pale salmon colour, reminiscent of delicate rose petals. The fine, persistent bubbles gracefully dance to the surface, creating a mesmerizing visual display. On the nose, the Cristal Rosé Vinothèque 2002 reveals an exquisite bouquet of fragrances. Aromas of fresh strawberries, ripe raspberries, and juicy cherries intertwine with hints of delicate rose petals and subtle notes of brioche and toasted almonds. This intricate symphony of scents creates a seductive and alluring invitation to indulge. Upon the first sip, the palate is greeted with a harmonious balance of flavors that unfold with precision and finesse. Layers of red fruit, including wild strawberries and tangy cranberries, mingle with zesty citrus accents, adding a refreshing vibrancy. The wine's complexity deepens as subtle hints of spices, such as ginger and cinnamon, emerge, adding depth and intrigue. The Louis Roederer Champagne Cristal Rosé Vinothèque 2002 boasts a luxurious mouthfeel, with a velvety texture that caresses the palate. The fine bubbles contribute to a creamy and luscious sensation, enhancing the wine's overall elegance. The finish is remarkably long and expressive, leaving a lasting impression. The flavors linger on the palate, with a delightful interplay between the fruit, acidity, and delicate toasty notes. This Champagne showcases remarkable aging potential, with the 2002 vintage demonstrating the perfect balance between youthful vibrancy and mature complexity.
