Stefano Lubiana Chardonnay
Elevate your senses with Stefano Lubiana Chardonnay 2020, a 750mL gem from Tasmania’s pioneering biodynamic winery in Granton. Established in 1990 by Steve and Monique Lubiana, this estate-grown Chardonnay hails from their Derwent Valley vineyard, Tasmania’s first certified biodynamic site since 2010. Crafted with hand-picked fruit from grey gravelly loams over clay, the 2020 vintage is wild-fermented and matured in French oak (20% new), delivering a pale straw hue with green tinges. The nose offers vibrant notes of lemon curd, white peach, and flint, with hints of nougat and spice. The palate is refined and creamy, balancing nectarine, grapefruit pith, and buttery peach with bright acidity and a mineral-driven finish, showcasing Tasmania’s hallmark purity. Rated 94 points by The Vine Press for its “textbook Tasmanian” style, this Chardonnay is perfect for pairing with creamy seafood like scallops or cellaring for 5 plus years. A collector’s delight from a fifth-generation winemaking legacy.
