Having matured in bottle, this savoury, spicy blend has achieved a wonderful richness and harmony. The nose is a complex invitation of plum, raspberry, and tarry aromas. On the medium-bodied palate, the dark fruit core of blackberry, dark cherry, and plum is beautifully interwoven with notes of licorice, spice, and chocolate, developing into rich, earthy flavours. The tannins, once firm, are now fine and supple, providing a seamless, soft texture that supports a gentle acidity and guides the wine to a long, savoury finish.

Another hearty expression of Barossa's generous fruit from the impressive Teusner stable. Black olives, black pepper and blackberries, there's a dark side to this feisty Shiraz. Concentrated and thick yet artfully constructed with balance and efficiency.

This is close to a 50/50 blend in a cracker vintage for both Shiraz and Mataro...with the latter probably just pipping the former in the best of vintage stakes. Whilst the Shiraz is all about instant satisfaction....plenty of rich, plump ripe dark fruits...the Mataro is meaty and savoury and acts as the perfect foil to the sweeter aspects of Barossa Shiraz.

The Eden Valley altitudes were always going to be the source for Kym Teusner's grand Cabernet statement. The fruit is awesome beyond belief, and it shows in this ridiculously underpriced masterstroke. An entitled mouthful of dark currants and blue fruits have a lasting depth all their own, wrapped in a precision poised tannin structure with grip and presence, yet silky throughout. Could be rookie of the year!
