The palate is a mix of violets and spice with hints of dutch licorice and lingering plum and cherry flavours. This is a fruit driven, medium bodied wine with soft, silky tannins and a savoury, persistent finish.

The undisputed authority on Viognier in Australia, Louisa Rose at Yalumba produces a Viognier as part of their Y Series range that has a powerful nose filled with tropical fruit, and a rich, flavoursome, zesty palate to match. Completed by a crisp, lingering finish.

Light yellow with green tints. Fresh apple, pear and a hint of cinnamon. Generous fruit length is complemented by rich mouth-feel and a creamy, lingering finish.

Yalumba Y Series Merlot is soft and supple, with sweet, ripe fruit flavours and a hint of liquorice or anise. Merlot is an excellent alternative to the heavier and more tannic red varieties.

The 2014 Yalumba Y Series Tempranillo has aromas of blueberry, black cherry and fennel seed leaping from the glass. It is juicy and plush on the palate with apparent dark berries and mocha tannins. The finish is rustic and savoury. Enjoy with salt and pepper grilled lamb cutlet.

This wine opens with aromas of honeysuckle and tropical fruits such as paw paw. There is a touch of complexity from the wild fermentation, just enough to let you know that under the pretty facade is a fun and adventurous wine.
