McLaren Vale

The Back Shed McLaren Vale White Blend

A wine that captures the heart and soul of RedHeads history. The Back Shed is where passionate winemakers go to make the wines they really want to – including taking fruit from two different regions to achieve the balance they want. True artisanal winemaking ‘for the real love of it’ at its best. In this case using a luscious mix of premium white grapes from McLaren Vale.

Coriole Chenin Blanc

This variety made famous by the Loire Valley is starting to gain a footing in Australia. Coriole Chenin Blanc is fresh and elegant on the palate, comprising pineapple and gooseberry fruits with an attractive smoky finish.

Serafino Grenache Shiraz Mataro

The McLaren Vale can be considered the true home of Grenache blends here in Australia witho some of the oldest vines in the world being dry grown there. Steve Maglieri's Serafino label provides a rich and delicious GSM blend a nose of rose petal and tobacco. The palate flows on with dense coffee and cedar notes that glide across the tongue.

Serafino Sharktooth Chardonnay

Ripe fruit, oak and a rich smooth mid palate. The wine finishes with a long even mineral persistence of flavour with a hint of citrus.

Hancock & Hancock Sparkling Shiraz

Gemtree Ernest Allan Shiraz

Ernest Allan Rivers was a market gardener and vigneron, he was also the grandfather of Melissa Brown, Gemtree proprietor and biodynamic viticulturist. Ernest Allan Shiraz is a wine that celebrates and validates the relationship between the earth and the vine.

The Nugan family history spans three generations and more than 80 years, displaying determination and passion. This benchmark McLaren Vale Shiraz is a tribute to the drive and vision of the Matriarch of the Nugan Family, Michelle Carruthers Nugan.

Hatch McLaren Vale Shiraz

Chris Hatcher of 'Hatch Wines' has been a winemaker for almost 50 years including more than 35 years at Wolf Blass, 27 as Chief Winemaker. After many years of contemplating releasing his own wines, Hatch retired from TWE in June 2023 and then in October/November released my own label HATCH, his monicker for most of his life. Hatch McLaren Vale Vesey Shiraz is a powerful, rich and plush wine with great vibrance and purity. The palate is intense, opulent and silky, delicious now, however will be reward with medium to long-term cellaring. 'A dense vibrant purple, aromas which simply leap from the glass. Generous in style, indeed opulent, with a seductive and soft texture, silky tannins. This will easily age and improve for eight to twelve years. Love it'. - Ken Gargett

Krinklewood Liberte

Beautiful pale pink in colour, this non alcoholic Mourvédre has a complex bouquet of wild strawberries with a touch of blueberry and passion fruit. The taste is well balanced with notes of Rose petals, Turkish delight, raspberry lemonade & Granny Smith. This NOLO "frizzante" wine is refreshing and smooth with a lingering sensation on the palate making you wish for another sip. Liberté shows all the spirit of a crowd-pleasing summer drop, with none of the alcohol. Pale gold straw in colour. This wine displays lifted aromas of stone fruit, citrus blossom and honeysuckle. Fresh white nectarine and ripe melon carry onto the palate with bright fruit intensity with a subtly integrated oak structure. Delicate hints of hazelnut are delivered by 9 months of maturation in puncheons and barriques.

Krinklewood Terre Rouge

Captivating first impressions of intense mocha, dark cocoa and spices are grounded with lively red plum, before the nose opens to warm, sweet vanilla bean. This Terre Rouge is a siren song for classic red lovers, an invitation of rich and full flavours, soft spice tannins, sophisticated complexity and refined elegance. This debut Terre Rouge joins the reserve range, a limited edition from select vintages over the years. Handpicked Shiraz fruit was gently crushed and chilled before being fermented in French vats. After 3 days of cold soaking, the juice spent another 14 days on skins with twice-daily hand plunging. We then softly pressed it into French barrels before spending 2 months maturing.
