Naked Run Wines The First Riesling
Naked Run Wines The First Riesling, Clare Valley Naked Run is the Clare Valley label of Steve and Laura Baraglia. The First Riesling, made from 100% free-run juice, comes from their Hill 5 vineyard in the Sevenhill district of the Clare Valley. The site is elevated, at 475 metres, and therefore relatively cool, with red-grey loam over a sandstone and slate/shale subsoil that gives minerality. The fruit is harvested at night, when cool, and processed quickly to minimise skin contact. Steve and Laura Baraglia live on their Sevenhill vineyard in the heart of the Clare Valley with their three children, Mason, Buddy and Evie. After a gentle pressing and three days cold settling, the juice is fermented until dry, stabilized and left on yeast lees for three months before filtering and bottling. The First Riesling is pale straw in colour and typically displays delicate floral, perfume and bath salt aromas and a palate dominated by lemon and lime. The wine has a steely acid backbone which offers a firm assurance that it will age elegantly for many years from vintage.

Powell & Son Kraehe Shiraz
Powell & Son Kraehe Marananga Shiraz, Barossa Valley Powell & Son (first vintage 2014) is the venture of Barossa Valley legend Dave Powell and his son Callum. The Kraehe vineyard is at 235m with eastern exposure on Maranangas ironstone ridge. Its soils are red, ironstone-rich clays. The wine is aged for two years in so-called Magic Casks, French oak barrels with staves double the normal thickness. Kraehe is the epitome of Barossa Valley Shiraz -- rich and generous in fruit: plum, dark cherry and blackberry, with smooth, powerful tannins and a mouth-coating palate. The style is intense, opulent and concentrated. Kraehe Marananga Shiraz typically shows blueberry and plum fruits, attractive oak characters and great complexity -- ground coffee and mocha, meat, earth and dried herbs. The palate has layers of flavour -- blackberry compote and kirsch liqueur, wood smoke, cured meats and black olive -- through to the long finish.

Chris Ringland Limit Lodge Cabernet Mataro
Chris Ringland Limit Lodge Cabernet Mataro is a blend of exceptional fruit from exceptional vineyards, a new style from winemaker Chris Ringland and grape grower Adrian Hoffmann. The name Limit Lodge comes from a historical parcel within the Hoffmann vineyards, and is also appropriate given the limited number of bottles made. Matured in aged French oak, this is a juicy Cabernet blend rich in dark, plummy fruits with savoury notes of bittersweet chocolate, coffee, and anise. The finish is long with mouth-coating tannins, and a slight salinity. Plenty of potential for ageing.
St Hallett Mighty Ox Shiraz
St Hallett Mighty Ox Shiraz (Magnum) St Halletts Mighty Ox Shiraz is a new icon for the heritage Barossa label. It is a decadent, classic style of Barossa Shiraz, saturated with black fruit and fit for many decades of cellaring.Fruit for this wine is sourced from several sites in the Northern Barossa, in Ebenezer, Greenock, and Moppa Hills. Bold and strong, it is named for the oxen that were once used to plough the soils of the Barossa. All parcels for this wine are treated individually, then spend 8 to 12 days of warm fermentation on skins. It is aged in American oak. The result is a full bodied showstopper, luscious and driving on the palate. The fruit intensity here is immense, with oak nuances teeming with vanilla and dark chocolate. The finish is incredibly long.
Seppeltsfield Great Terraced Vineyard Grenache
Seppeltsfield Great Terraced Vineyard Grenache From the storied Seppeltsfield, a crown jewel of the Barossa, comes the Great Terraced Vineyard Grenache. The 2020 vintage is a special release to mark 170 years of the estate, established in 1851. It is a drinkable tribute to the estates icon vineyard, first planted in 1855. It is a celebratory and distinguished bottling that captures the confluence of tradition and a new chapter. A single vineyard Grenache, the Great Terraced Vineyard consists of bush vine Grenache grown in soils famously rich in ironstone, quartz and slate. This iron-oomph and bracing minerality carries through to a powerful palate in a medium-bodied Barossan that is astonishingly concentrated. Raise a glass to 170 years!
