Maison Saint AIX White

Chateau Vannières Bandol Rosé

The Boisseaux family, originally from Beaujolais, have owned this organically farmed 32-hectare 16th Century domaine since 1957. Bandols dry warm growing conditions, proximity to the Mediterranean ocean, clay limestone soils and south/south-east facing slopes are ideal for growing mourvèdre, grenache and cinsault. The vines are roughly 20 to 60 years old and no chemical or synthetic applications are used. Eric and his son Charles Eric Boisseaux have employed traditional techniques and modern technology to produce a cracking rosé of lovely freshness and generosity. The mourvèdre component (about 60%) derives from drawing off juice prior to vinification. This technique is known as en saignée. The juice is faintly coloured because there is virtually no pick-up of phenolics from the skins. The remaining components, which are lightly pigmented, are drawn off directly from the press. When blended the wine shows a lovely pink salmon hue and mineral clarity. Fresh red currant raspberry fruits with herb garden, grapefruit notes, fine lacy textures and persistent acidity are all hallmarks of the style. The wine has excellent vinosity and depth of flavour. Drink as an aperitif or share with friends. Eric Boisseaux says I make wine to serve at the dining table or simply to drink well on its own and enjoy.

Domaine du Gros' Noré Bandol Rouge

Although Bandol produces the most serious red wines in Provence, it still isn't a particularly well known appellation, and chances are most people haven't even heard of Bandol. This intriguing wine is a blend of Mourvèdre (80%) and a dash of Cinsault (15%) and old vine Carignan (5%).

Miraval Studio by Miraval

The name of this wine, STUDIO by Miraval, was not chosen by chance. In 1977, jazz musician Jacques Loussier, the owner of the estate at the time, had a recording studio built there, and hosted international artists of the calibre of Pink Floyd, The Cure, Muse, AC/DC, Wham, Sting, The Cranberries, Rammstein, Chris Rea, and French artists such as Indochine, Telephone, and Bashung. Studio Rosé is a pale pink colour with great clarity. The nose is an explosion of freshness with notes of citrus and fresh fruit. Its elegant palate offers refresing acidity with floral and iodized notes supported by grapefruit zest on the finish.

Miraval Provence Rose Côtes de Provence Rosé

Miraval Cotes de Provence Rosé is one of the highest profile wine brands in the world because of its association with Hollywood superstars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. While that marriage fell apart, Miraval Rosé has gone from strength to strength reflecting the enduring combination of Cinsault, Grenache, Rolle (Vermentino) and Syrah. A small proportion of the blend was barrel fermented to give an extra level of complexity, while Rolle better known today by its Italian name Vermentino brings aromatic intensity floral notes on the palate. The gorgeous pale blush colour, superb pure red cherry, stone fruit, rock melon aromas, and flavours, supple textures and crunchy freshness are all in perfect balance. Vinified under the supervision of the great Perrin winemaking family, Miraval is a technically brilliant and stylish rosé with wonderful buoyancy, substance and minerality. Always great as an aperitif or enjoy with grilled fish, light pasta dishes or light cheeses.
