Maturation in seasoned French oak gives a subtle background of vanilla and spice. Palate: Medium bodied and vibrant palate sums up this wonderful expression of Wilyabrup Cabernet. The palate is fresh and full of vibrant mulberry, cassis and black cherry flavours. Mature, ripe and fresh tannin drives the flavour to a long and persistent finish. Winemaking The fruit was picked on the 2nd and 24th of April showing excellent flavours and tannin maturity. Lightly crushed fruit was then placed to a static and open fermenter for period of fermentation with daily pump overs to ensure a moderate fermentation temperature and extraction of tannin. Once the desirable amount of flavour and tannin was evident the wine was pressed before being matured in seasoned French oak for a following 10 months before bottling.

The oldest vines in Margaret River form the backbone of Vasse Felix. A modern, elegant, cool climate style crafted from our premier parcels of southern Margaret River Syrah (Shiraz). Wild fermented, with a portion of whole bunch fermentation and carbonic maceration, this aromatic, fine-boned Syrah is luscious, spicy and beautifully complex, representing the future of our favourite ‘alternative’ Margaret River red varietal. Lifted aniseed, white pepper, cacao, clove, and pine sawdust sit on bright fragrant raspberry, cranberry and Japanese sour plum. Beautifully silky entrance, with chalkiness on the finish leaving a dry and immensely fragrant perfume lingering. Raspberry and cranberry juice with a red peppercorn spice and a hint of red liquorice remain.

Evans & Tate is arguable the most famous name in Western Australia wine, and now the Tate name has been re-born in the Franklin Tate Estates wines made by esteemed winemaker, Rory Clifton-Parks. Franklin Tate himself has sought out the finest vineyard sites in the Margaret River region to deliver superb, terroir driven, wines that showcase the tradition and longevity of the Tate name, but also a modern and innovative wine-making approach. The Chardonnay was one third fermented in fine French Oak barriques delivery a soft and creamy mouthfeel, yet still with varietal lift and fine acid balance.

The defining Chardonnay of Vasse Felix. It is made from a selection of Chardonnay parcels from Vasse Felixs premier vineyards in a modern Margaret River style with elegance and fruit power. 96 Points | James Halliday.

The palate is complex and fruit-driven, filled with vibrant flavours of blackcurrant and spicy hints, and integrated with a fine-grained tannin structure, ultimately culminating in a clean and lingering climax.

Ripe and concentrated with a fragrant perfume of violet and incense. There are ripe dark fruits of currant and mulberry with pepper and lead pencil, which are balanced by more complex notes of damp earth and cedar oak. Full, firm, and structured with fine grain tannins. Once again, ripe dark fruits show through with a slight hint of pepper. Pair with Beef eye fillet, prosciutto wrapped venison with roasted vegetables. Drinking well upon release but has the potential to evolve in the short term. Grape Variety100% Fer.

Concentrated and complex with cocoa, currant, cassis, bay leaf and dusty gravel. There is an underlying violet perfume, which is all wrapped up in savoury-cedar oak. Medium bodied with a long and seamless palate. There are ample fine grain tannins, which gently coat the mouth and will help to age the wine gracefully. Again, the palate shows a good balance between fruit and complex characters, with cassis, mulberry and currants well integrated with bay leaf, cocoa and dusty gravel. A concentrated and complex wine that will gain further complexity with age.

Vasse Felix Classic Dry White contains flavours of gooseberries that dominate the aroma of this blend with hints of stone fruit and perfume in the background. Fresh and lively with lovely texture and good length of flavour it is ideal summer drinking.
