Old Kempton Distillery 10th Anniversary Release Single Malt Whisky

Ten years marks a significant period in the development of Old Kempton Distillery. Along with Lyn Lark, James Reid and Amelia Hope, we started what was going to be a small craft distillery. Over time, the distillery attracted a few passionate friends who shared our vision. They were welcomed into our family bringing expertise and enthusiasm guiding OKD to what it is today. We are also fortunate to have a wonderful support team to facilitate OKD’s commitment to becoming a true artisan distillery. On behalf of OKD, I thank you for your support and making the future look bright. We look forward to welcoming you to the distillery and being able to share more of our amazing Tasmanian spirits. Aroma: A rich and ever developing aroma with dried fruits (raisins and sultanas), tinned pears, coffee with dark chocolate, orange peel, rich malt, and toasted almonds. Palate: Rich oil, and creamy across the palate with a good balance of both sweet and dry elements (ANZAC biscuits, Seville orange, and oak). Finish: Great mouthfeel with good spread and balance (Gingernut biscuit with spice and toffee). This release marries together spirit distilled at both our original site at Redlands Estate and at our new home at Dysart House, Kempton. Whist our location has changed, the delicate fruit and malt driven spirit that we produce has been consistent across our sites and is central to the style of whisky we produce.

New Norfolk Distillery Dormant Star Single Rum

'Dormant Star' is the first single rum release from boutique rum distillers, New Norfolk Distillery. The spirit has been crafted and aged at the historic Willow Court Asylum. After laying in American Oak ex-bourbon barrels for over two years at the distillery, deep in the Derwent Valley of Tasmania, this spirit has awoken as a star of artisanal rum. Notes of vanilla, tobacco leaf and chocolate are layered with hints or orange and butterscotch to create a tipple you'd enjoy on an intergalactic voyage. This aged rum is popular with both rum and whisky drinkers alike. Share neat or on the rocks.

The Old Stables Single Malt Whisky

The Old Stables has been created to be the perfect introduction to the Old Kempton whisky range. Bottled at a modest 40.5% alc vol, this small batch release is wonderful for sharing a dram with friends over dinner. Aroma:Beautiful fruit and nut chocolate nose with gentle malt notes being the highlight. Palate:Sweet and delicious upfront before quickly building to a creamy toffee malt. Maintains a long and lingering palate. Finish:Finishes with a warm satisfying glow which is nicely balanced with malt spices. The Old Stables has been awarded “Best Australian Small Batch Single Malt” in the 2022 World Whisky Awards!

King Island Distillery Martha’s Moonshine

Bold, daring and unexpected. King Island’s Martha’s Moonshine encapsulates a spirit of discovering something that has never before been encountered. This super-premium spirit is an adventurous addition to any drink, long mixer or cocktail creation. Tasting Notes Distilled on King Island using malted Australian barley. Smooth on the palate with notes of biscuity malt, orange blossom honey, pear drops and aniseed. Ingredients Malted barley and other grains of Australian origin.

Launceston Distillery Tawny Matured Single Malt Whisky

This robust whisky was matured in French and American Oak tawny casks and non-chill filtered to create its unique taste and depth of character. It features complex tawny-influenced flavours of fruit & spice, appealing fragrant aromas and a long, smooth finish. Our casks are made by local coopers from carefully selected oak barrels previously used to age tawny fortified wines (Australian-style port).

Launceston Distillery Caribbean Rum Finish Single Malt Whisky

This very special Caribbean rum cask whisky batch has been matured in American oak Bourbon casks and then finished in freshly emptied Caribbean Rum casks. It is a beautiful dark golden colour, and the nose is sweet and light with just a hint of candy, pineapple, and rum. This will entice you to sip and experience the bright, warming palate, which is sweet and zesty. The rum notes dominate, with brown sugar, pear and citrus peel. The lingering finish is spicy, making it the ideal summer dram.

This distinctive whisky was matured in American oak bourbon casks and non-chill filtered to retain depth of character. With captivating fragrant aromas and charcteristic bourbon-influenced flavours, it has a mellow and lingering finish on the palate. Our casks are made by local coopers from carefully selected American oak barrels previously used to age bourbon.
