This iconic label by Yalumba has a proud history from it's first release in 1962. This is a truly wonderful example of the Octavius. Rising from the glass is a tangle of violets, raspberry, spice and vanilla, drawing the taster towards a palate saturated in raspberry, blackberry, liquorice allsorts and star anise. On the verge of greatness, it should be drunk between 2011 - 2014.

The palate is a mix of violets and spice with hints of dutch licorice and lingering plum and cherry flavours. This is a fruit driven, medium bodied wine with soft, silky tannins and a savoury, persistent finish.
