CIRILLO 1850 Ancestor Vine Semillon, Barossa Valley

The Cirillo Mataro is an ode to Barossa history and old clones of the region. Cuttings were taken from nine individual rouge Mataro vines amongst our 1850 Grenache vineyard. Marco Cirillo propagated these nine vines in a nursery at the winery. Then he replanted these in 2005, as bush vineyard (no trellising) on the Cirillo property. As it is a small block, it only equates to around 60 dozen made each year. This wine is generous and silky with beautiful depth. It shows structured flavour with fine tannins. Made naturally in open fermenters, gently basket pressed, then left to mature in seasoned French oak barrels for 12 months. This allows the Mataro to show its true terroir. A wine that can be forgotten in the cellar for the next 10 to 20 years.

AmaroneDOCG - A complex and elegant wine, powerful and velvety on the palate. It harmoniously combines fruity aromas sweet spices and balsamic notes. A deep ruby red colour with light garnet hues during aging, it’s a complex and elegant wine, rich in aromas of ripe red fruit, black cherry and withered petals, spicy tones of tobacco, coffee, and black cocoa. pleasant acidity, silky and well-balanced tannins. Persistent finish. Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore DOC -The Ripasso technique (meaning that the wine is re fermented on the lees) enhances the combination of the freshness of Valpolicella and the richness of the Amarone. This wine with an intense ruby red colour opens to the nose with pleasant aromas of plum, red fruit and blackberry, followed by floral hints of red rose, wild mint, and a gentle sweet spice flavour. Soft and structured on the palate is well balanced between freshness and perfect tannin. Valpolicella Superiore DOC -A Dynamic wine with mineral character and aromatic complexities, made exclusively from the best selection of grapes grown in our vineyard “Campo Bianco”. A brilliant ruby red wine, dynamic with a mineral character and aromatic complexity. Elegant, lovely aromas of cherry and plum, delicate floral hints meet balsamic accents and nuances of vanilla and cinnamon.

Aromas of graphite, mineral, juicy black cherries and spicy oak. Softly textured, fresh and vibrant, black cherry and earthy beetroot. Fine, long acid finish.

Henschke's flagship Cabernet is named after the late Cyril Henschke who purchased the Eden Valley property in the 1960s. Stephen and Prue Henschke then established the vineyard with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc vines which produces this intensely perfumed Cabernet. Matured in 100% new French oak for 18 months, this exceptional wine shows blackcurrant and cedar characters balanced with superb fine grained tannin.

Concentration is the key word for this wine. Super ripe fruit, dense and rich, matured for an extended time in toasty new oak. Complex, vibrant aromas of violets, plums, blackberries and cassis with dried rosemary, thyme and oregano nuances, and a hint of beef stock, cedar and star anise spice. The palate is powerful yet incredibly finely structured with layers of plums, blackberries and red currants, guided by elegant acidity and tannins that integrate with the fruit and lead to a long, fine, beguiling finish.
