Plum and blackberries with a hint of black pepper. Mulberry, blackberry and plum flavours with earthy complexities and hints of liquorice. Supported by fine velvety tannins, with a long satisfying finish. Cold soaked for 36 hours before being fermented with neutral yeast in open top fermenters. Plunged 4 times a day in the height of ferment to extract delicate fruit tannins and enhance the vibrant colour. First Creek Winemaker's Reserve Semillon
First Creeks Winemakers Reserve uses the best fruit from the best regions for the varieties in this case, the Hunter Valley and only in vintages deemed excellent. The result is wines of finesse like this Gold medal-winning Semillon. Very pale lemon with a green hue, this Semillon has an intriguing nose of lemongrass, straw, bay leaf, florals and peppery spice. Fresh, clean and long, the palate has lovely layers of lemon, grapefruit, lanolin, talc and Sunlight soap bound by mouth-watering acidity.
