V & A Lane is named after a long straight road that dissects Coonawarras renowned terra rossa strip. A historical location, first surveyed in 1851, it has long been used as a landmark setting out the northern and southern ends of Coonawarra. The V & A Lane Shiraz is a classic Coonawarra style, showing ample blue and blackberry fruit and supple silky tannins.

GIROLAMO RUSSO 'a Rina Nerello Mascalese, Etna Located in the north-eastern corner of Sicily, Girolamo Russo vineyards are planted high on the lava flow of Europe’s tallest and most active volcano, offering mineral-rich soils juxtaposed with a dry climate. The Nerello Mascalese consists of fruit from 3 ‘contradas’ or single vineyards. The volcanic influence evolves gradually in the glass, providing a savoury minerality that rounds out the sensational fruit and spice and long lingering finish. Giussepe Russo, winemaker since 2005, has a hands-off approach (organic yeasts, no fining/filtering etc.) with his organically tended fruit. This Nerello Mascalese is grown on sandy, lava based soils at 650–780m on the unthreatened northern slope of Europe's highest and most active volcano. Matured in second and third use French oak barriques for 14 months. Elegant, supple and complex. The essential Etna Rosso.

A.T.RICHARDSON WINES Hard Hill Road Petite Sirah, Great Western

Ripe and layered, the A.T. Richardson Chockstone is a cool climate Shiraz rich with chocolate and herb on the palate. It finishes with a subtle touch of spice. A velvety texture completes the picture in this full-bodied Shiraz. Having honed his skills working in some of the worlds most notable regions, winemaker Adam Richardson first planted vines in the cool-climate Great Western region in 2006. His passion is in crafting modern, personal interpretations of traditional Grampians varieties, with a focus on elegance, balance and structure.

Though it has never been absolutely proven, Chateau Asone is rumoured to be the 4th century home of a Roman villa belonging to the classical poet Ausonius - and indeed, part of the estate does contain archaeological remains of a Roman villa. Needless to say, it’s a local estate of great pedigree and despite its incredibly lengthy history, it has only changed familial hands three times, culminating in the 17th century with the Dubois-Challon-Vauthier family, in whose descendents hands it remains today. Widely regarded among Bordeaux winemakers to be home to some of the best terroir in the region and that terroir, along with the skilled hand of Alain Vauthier, have made it one of the best producers of Bordeaux wine in the world. Renowned for its unique flavour and rich, full-bodied minerality, the 2016 has been lauded for its “regal” yet “stunning and ethereal” character, and widely regarded as one of THE wines of this year’s vintage.
