Named after Bella, one of the McPherson's many grandchildren, a girl with a whimsical nature combined with a steely determination. Qualities reflected in the McPherson's charming Pinot Grigio. It was grown in New South Wales and crafted by two amazing Australian winemakers, Jo Nash and Olivia Forbes. This terrific Pinot Grigio comes from an award winning cellar established in 1949 in the village of Etyek, 50 kilometres from Budapest, and it shows just what fantastic quality and value Hungary offers. Famous for its regal sweet wine, named Tokaji, Hungary has in fact many strings to its bow, thanks in part to a 600 year history of growing Italian grape varieties. Winemaker Gábor Laczkó has proven himself an expert, crafting a range of thrilling wines under the Campanula label, named after the flower that grows wild in the vineyards. This refreshingly crisp, minerally Pinot Grigio has classic ripe pear, apricot and green apple character. Enjoy as a refreshing glass any time or with lighter dishes like tiger prawns or grilled salmon steak.

Many of you will remember Sam Trimboli from his days at Warburn Estate where, every vintage, he’d pick up literally hundreds of awards. He’s still on a winning streak, but now he’s renting space all for himself at a winery in Riverina, New South Wales. Sam makes there the mighty Black Duck, and his white version – the equally fruity and irresistible White Duck. Sam has been in the region for many years, so knows exactly where the best grapes are growing. In 2021, he selected when he wanted them picked too, cool fermenting and adding a touch of citrusy Pinot Grigio to the blend. This is the sort of wine you should never be short of, ready chilled in the fridge. Exuberant with bright melon fruit – serve solo or with a spicy noodle dish.
