Sassy Sister Decadent Blueberry Brandy Liqueur

Amanda and Rob hand craft a unique and rare blueberry liqueur, a labour of love and passion, called Sassy Sister Decadent Blueberry Brandy Liqueur. Produced at Bilyara Springs in the foothills of the pristine Strathbogie ranges in north-east Victoria, where our organically grown blueberries and red currants thrive. Our annual crop of berries is steeped for 12 months in a 20+ year old brandy which has been blended with a younger vibrant brandy spirit in the style of a cognac (both of which have been aged in American and French Oak barrels). This is then crushed and the essence is returned to the vat for another 4 to 5 years to allow the fruit and spirit to mature into a smooth , well rounded and delicious liqueur. Our family and friends have enjoyed Sassy Sister Liqueur for many years and finally convinced us to offer her to the wider audience. In May of 2019 we released her into the market and simultaneously entered her into 2 prestigious competitions, the 2019 Australian Distilled Spirits Awards (ADSA) where she won a Silver medal and the Melbourne International Spirits Competition winning another Silver medal being just 1 point short of a Gold (we were unaware of the necessity to inform the judges that her deep rich, red colour is all natural and not synthetic). As small craft distillers we were thrilled to receive the awards and the accompanying accolades acknowledging that Sassy Sister Decadent Blueberry Brandy Liqueur is as special as we believed and at 33.4% AV she is no shrinking violet! As a digestif or aperitif she is great on her own, but it is in cocktails where she really shines.

Hennessy V.S.O.P Cognac Lunar New Year

Maison Hennessy heralds a brand-new cycle in the Chinese calendar through a monumental composition by Yan Pei-Ming, one of the world's most celebrated and sought-after contemporary artists. For the first time ever, in 2023 Maison Hennessy ushers in the Lunar New Year by honoring not just a single, symbolic animal, but the entire Zodiac in all its diversity. In the hands of Yan Pei-Ming, a joyful celebration becomes a symbol of inclusiveness and hope, carrying a promise of forward momentum after a particularly challenging period. The animals' spirited race toward new horizons conveys a singular truth: "Together, We Go Further." The key to a perfect bottle of VSOP starts at the roots. A tradition of careful aging in hand-crafted French oak barrels develops an eaux-de-vie’s unique expression. From ugni blanc grapes to V.S.O.P, the beauty of this blend is in the selection. It’s through the process of blending that eaux-de-vie becomes V.S.O.P. This Cognac has flavours and aromas of French oak, vanilla, cinnamon, candied fruit, and clove.

Grosperrin 'Cognac De Collection' Petite Champagne

This vintage Cognac comes from a family of public notaries who has been located close to the city of Cognac for many generations. This Petite Champagne was part of the inheritance of the father, who had bequeathed his stocks of Cognac to his wife and his son, who was public notary like him. The father has bought this batch on January 1974 to one of his clients, who was at the time the President of one of the most important Cognac Houses. Unfortunately, when the father passed away, his wife and his son were in disagreement and the succession was blocked until we propose a solution. This is a very “sentimental” cognac, stored under State control since the 25th of January 1974, in a very humid cellar located on the bank of the Charente river in the city center of Cognac. This cellar is today the Cognac Museum. The harvest 1973 was abundant ( 62% compared to the harvest 1972 in Petite Champagne!) and was qualified of “harvest of the century” at the time. Warm gold colour, with amber lights. The nose is rich and unctuous; ripe fruits, dark-red plums, Mirabelle plums, spices (curcuma, cardamom, pepper) and sandalwood, cedar scents. Surrounding the fruits, the lovely old rancio nose that well-matured Cognac develops. The taste increase the fruity delicacies (plums again, dark chocolate with cinnamon) and the spicy side (tobacco, nutmeg). At the end, slightly bitter as coffee beans, complexity and elegancy of a controlled rancio.
